Correct. The KING of late night. No, that is wrong. I don't consider a late night show has been on since. Everyone is a joke with maybe the exception of O'Brien. But even he is light years away from Carson.

When it clicks, it clicks. This interview shows just how good chemistry can be between two people. Johnny and Kevin both killed this interview. Especially loved the part about how the customer is NOT always right.

No he's not...treated his first wife like crap....serial womanizer...at least she got a great settlement. He cultivates his "aw shucks" persona. He's creative and hard working, but wedding vows are a suggestion, not a commitment.

Kevin makes some of the most beautiful movies. Dances With Wolves was a masterpiece; so was Field of Dreams. I think he's a brilliant actor and a very sexy man. This interview reveals he's also very kind and decent as well. Go Kevin!

For those out there to young to experience Johnny just imagine a time with zero social media and of course no cell phones! You worked or whatever you did during the day and when the day turned to late evening you settled into a comfortable spot and let Johnny guide you to happy content sleep...it was an amazingly simpler time 🤩😍

One of my favorite movie’s of all time; Dances with Wolves. I met Kevin Costner a few years ago near Park City, Utah, a fluke while on a trip paid for by my employer. I wish I had the mindset to tell him how much I loved this movie and how it stays with me till this day. Such a nice man.

I miss Carson. I discovered him in the fall of 1965 when at the age of 12 I was asked to babysit a couple of kids two houses away. Only five stations I recall in the L.A. area at the time. Turning the channels I ran across him at 11:30 as I was able to stay up late and recognized a guest so I watched. Continued watching till the day he retired. Now I have to watch him on my video collection.

I was managing a movie theater at the time and I remember when it was released on Friday, November 9, 1990 the film reels came in late from Los Angeles. The projectionist scrambled to put all the reels together but it was a challenge because of the large number of reels because the movie was 3 hours long! Because it was 3 hours long we were only able to have 3 showings per day per theater. It sold out for months though!

I rode and had my horse in training at a ranch where one of “Dances with Wolves” stuntmen/wrangler had his horses and cattle. All the PBR bull riders, Hollywood stuntmen and actors used to come rope and ride there. Next door was his brother’s ranch-he was head wrangler and stunt double for Kevin Costner for “Dances With Wolves” (his name was Norman Howell). After the movie was finished shooting, Norm brought home one of the buffalo to live on his ranch. Occasionally the buffalo would get loose and run through the neighborhood and get the horses all worked up.

Kevin let a friend stay on his couch. His friend was working on a screen play for a movie he was writing. He kept losing jobs that Kevin got for him. Kevin kicked him out. His friend begged him to read the screen play he had written not long after he was kicked out. Kevin...finally...reluctantly..read the script. It was for Dances With Wolves.

My Grandma Colombian saw the Movie or Read the Book Gone with the Wind and went to America after leaving my Grandfather in Colombia she took my Mom with her and put her in School and told my Grandfather to send them money My Mom was in School in America. So My Mom would come and go from Florida to Colombia and one day she met my Dad a Colombian and they went to Europe and Got Married & created me in Amsterdam but came back to Colombia to give Birth to me.The video below shows me as a Wife & Mommy & Friend & Daughter. Now God showed me its Kevin M. Costner that is my New Husband to have and to hold & feed & give drinks & keep him HAPPY 😇💗😇.

My daughter (age 20 at the time) was an Extra on the film Black and White, from 2013, which starred Costner. While it was filming, I asked her if anybody famous was in the movie. She very excitedly replied, "Octavia Spenser, from The Help! She's great, blah blah blah,,,," Anybody else? "Some old guy. Everybody called him Kevin. He even told the extras to call him Kevin" It was Costner-a genuine nice guy even with kids who just thought he was an "old guy."

I was too young to watch Johnny live. But he seems so much better then the political bias hacks who run late night now.
@Poetic_Justice19622 жыл бұрын
"Political bias hacks"... Kinda necessary to take sides, when one party's gone full fascist theocracy mad and tried a coup and to murder members of the other, reasonable party that was voted in government after the fascist party and their fuhrer lost, but maintained they didn't, which has been proven to be one of their million lies to the public. What side you are on, is suggested by your comment.

Johnny made political jokes as well. Not as much as now. Politics now is more comical so there's a lot to go on.
@jmchez Жыл бұрын
@@cheri7054 Johnny's jokes were even-handed, funny because of the situation not the politics and he was never mean. He was friends with Democrats and Republicans.
@Nfarce Жыл бұрын
@@cheri7054 - Wrong answer. Today's late night "talk show" hosts are nothing but full of vitriol and hate and just one way (anyone who is not a Democrat). Johnny and to an extent even Letterman and Leno were much more light hearted about politics, and to all of their credits, made fun of both major political party politicians on an even handed basis - and there was no hate when they did so. Not so in this day and age.

Having Kevin Costner on The Tonight Show with Carson to talk about Dances With Wolves makes you realize how long ago that movie really was. I think so. I see many young people feeling nostalgic for a time before they were even born. They buy vinyl records and always comment on home movies of life in the 80’s and early 90’, talking about how everyone seemed happier and were having human interactions with no cellphones. They even say the music was better. I always agree with them, because it was. I’m sure every generation says that, though.
