"Why don't you get Our Lady to co-sign that check and it'll cash just fine." Brilliant! Our Mother is faithful.

That was amazing. I bawled immediately after he repeated what the priest had said. I too have a check that I can't cash and the harder and more I pray feels like the "waves" of sorrow/fear/insecurities are not stopping. I'm so happy to hear his perspective and experience. It gives me hope.

My vocation is marriage, motherhood and now grandmotherhood. I’ve finally come to understand that I can’t do any of this in the manner of which God asks of me. I beg Jesus and Mary and the Holy Spirit for help. Like basically daily! And when I fail, I beg for mercy in prayer. It was a life altering shift. And I’m 65, married 35 years. Excellent interview. A keeper and one to share.

Ok fine I'll give you more time so as to not bash you with the lack of progress in holiness. As far as I know what I meaning to say for those words are There's no saints in Protestantism only saints in Catholicism and orthodoxy and their faith is easily higher than any protestant and ex Protestant. You just cannot deny miracles of the saints or you're practically not a Christian!

The moment he spoke about being ADHD and not going to heaven by praying the same devotion everyday hit me. I have ADHD, and I can't tell you how hard it is to not being able to fully medidate on the rosary, not being consistent with what I want to pray. As he was speaking, I got tears in my eyes. But he just confirmed what maybe God was helping me work on, that is praying what the moment takes me to. It's so much better for the way my brain works, I can fully dive into prayer if I'm following what God is showing me that I need. God bless you, Fr. Malachy. You have no idea how much you helped me today.

I’ve been diagnosed at age 8 but I still genuinely don’t understand it. I am almost afraid to focus because when I hyperfocus I can’t notice anything else happening. It’s a very strange thing but God is able to meet us literally anywhere at anytime and He has a sense of humor too. Wishing you the best! If you find a simple prayer to pray every day that can be a good start to build up the foundation. Even if it’s just a sentence that takes 20 seconds to say. God is good!
@kazfor376910 ай бұрын
There is a saying " pray has you can, not as you cant" also God will give you the grace to pray as he wishes you to pray, he understands your struggles and will give you the grace to pray as he wishes you to pray in a way that is right for you, he will do this through the holy spirit, also when you are struggling to pray, even if it is for just five minutes try to sit in silence and just ask the holy spirit to pray for you, then just sit and don't try to hard, the holy spirit will pray for you and with you, always. I understand adhd breaks your focus and your mind moves quickly between one thing and another so even just a couple of minutes a day in silence asking the holy spirit to pray for you and with you as well as our lady and even Jesus himself will pray for you to the father, especially when you cant pray yourself.❤

St Therese of Lisieux couldn’t handle the rosary, found it terribly difficult, and St Teresa of Avila needed a book to pray as she had no imagination. She said prayer can be without words, just a look of love. Any attempts you make will be loved by God. He must enjoy prayer in a variety of ways as He made us all so different!

That doesn't make sense. You must repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus Christ saves you. Not Buddhist philosophy which isn't loving at all. I cannot show myself self love. That's feeding my ego. I already received emotional comfort from Jesus Christ. I was abused sexually as a small boy. But I don't brag how my discernment is through the roof. You must practice humility and ask God for love. So you do not become selfishness. As self love leads to self-ishness.

God has really been working on me lately, a year and half ago when my Mom passed I asked Him what is my next mission? My Mom had had health problems for the better part of 30 years and I was just about to turn 40. I knew what he called me to do in the first half of my life, and it really different for me to not be a caregiver anymore. I was completely drained and exhausted, and He told me to take it easy. I thought He was saying take it easy for a little while. I took about 1.5 years to realize that was the next mission, but what it means at this moment is to be gentle with myself, talk to myself like I would someone who has been through what I've been through. And He is calling me to exercise this muscle of rejecting intrusive thoughts and worry and finding this place of peace and calm. Its amazing! But non of this would happen if I didnt come to God and say, I'm having a hard time I need help, I think pride keeps us from doing that. And its so important, we can't shoulder this life, we need help in our individual vocations. God keeps on confirming this message to me in multiple ways 🙌🏻 I'm so thankful!
@AbsurdScandal10 ай бұрын
His point about disinterested love is really on point! It's truly meant to be a more important type of love we have for others - not that we can't also want to enjoy being with others at all, or desire to enjoy socialising with them, but loving them for their own sake & rejoicing in them is more important. I think Malachy's point about looking at people without wanting to get anything out of them is more so about women rather than any possible enjoyment one can derive from other people - it specifically applies to the opposite sex as there's a sort of "imperfection" in desiring them since our instincts want the completion of being with another woman, but those who've made vows of celibacy to God are called to a higher perfection which completes the human person such as to not crave that completion from a woman instead. God's grace is meant to help with that and make disinterested love stronger so that those who are devoted to celibacy no longer feel that incompletion that makes them want that which is contrary to celibacy.

I just had an incredibly fruitful reflection about that “Rolodex of prayers.” Are you familiar with The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd? Like the little children who come into the Atrium, I imagine I have a room where I can go into various corners to sit and pray, listen quietly, work on a holy project, listen to God telling me that I am loved. Maybe this is a helpful visual, from one focus-challenged child of God to another.

knowledge If you are wondering about the question of whether your sexuality is a sin or not, I welcome you to consider the following thoughts for clarification. Let’s look at some basic fundamental facts based on extensive research & ongoing R&D. During fetal development a verity of biochemical agents are introduced which determine the development of the fetus. Major agents such as testosterone & estrogen & a host of others agents determine size, weight, hair color, eye color & sexuality along with a host of other traits that make us who we are. Variations in the amount & timing of the introduction of these agents have a major effect in the development of the fetus The fetus is a passive participant & has no influence or say in these matters. Sexuality, for example, & all other secondary traits are thus given in us. Well, this begs the question, is homosexuality a sin. If your religion or belief system states that it is, then there can be no argument. These are the rules based on this system’ dogma. If you accept this system, you must accept the rules. If however you are in a belief system based on logic, reason, observation & common sense, the conclusion is totally different. Replacing ancient religion & mythology with reason leads to another conclusion. There exist many variations of human sexual expression. When you leave various ancient religious beliefs behind & use knowledge based in research, you can see the true nature of humanity. You leave ignorance, hatred, & prejudice behind. In the book Gay Straight & the Reason Why by Simon Levay PhD explanations regarding this aspect of humanity are clearly explained & is based on research & not ancient text which had no benefit of understanding humanity. Being gay is no more of a choice than having red hair. They are both based on genetics & clearly not a sin. Peace
