Mogadishu looks much better since I was there 10 years ago. I worked for the UN and had to get military escort everywhere we went. The guards had to sleep in the hotel lobby etc. Most buildings had bullet holes. We even had to rely on satellite phones. Was like a scene from Thunderdome.
