Now that I'm a little older, and little wiser about the world, this song has come to mean alot more to me. It perfectly describes my first love..and heartbreak. So i was a normal lad, and i met and befriended this pretty girl. We were close, and alot of our friends were rooting for us to be together. Unfortunately, she came from a traditional family, so they had alot of say in who she could and couldn't be together with. And, suffice to say, they didn't approve of me. I tried my hardest to please them, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. They forbade her from seeing me. Our final meeting came when she snuck out and met me at the local fair held in our area, the same one we first met at when we were both younglings. She told me that she was set to go overseas for her studies, and that her flight was the next morning. So we proceeded to spend her last day their enjoying the fair, with me trying my best not to break out into tears, and trying my best to give her one last good memory. It finally ended with her giving me a kiss(My first one) and her favorite necklace (i gave it to her a while back, as a birthday present). So we parted, and i went home an cried like a baby. I wasn't even man enough to go to the airport the next morning to steal one final look at her. This was all a while back, and here i am, walking down my chosen path in life, while she walks down hers. Last i heard, from the few friends that she was still allowed to remain in contact with, she was all set to graduate as valedictorian from some prestigious academy, and was engaged to some big-name heir, or something. The point I'm trying to make with this long and (admittedly) cliche story, is that in this world, there rarely are any perfect happy endings, and for every happy ending that happens, there are ten sad endings that could have happened. So when you do have a happily ever after, make sure you fight tooth and nail to keep it, because when its gone, its gone, and there won't ever be one quite like it.

This is one of the songs my partner added to my Spotify because I suffer from abuse amnesia. And they abuse me till if forget him and the abuse my family has done to me...I play it now to remember so the next time I find him I will remember he's my epic love.
