Choosing the topic I want personally to explore is more efficient to me rather than any other subjects taught at school. Because I will be personally attached to it, we have personal interest so it's way easier to learn something we're excited to.❤ For example I'm a French native speaker, we were taught the English language at school but at the end of schooling nobody was fluent, we couldn't share a thought. I started homeschooling at 14 years old, and now I'm totally fluent in English, just because I decided to learn it by myself, by choosing the lessons I wanted to develop. Being a self made person is so incredible because we are all choosing a different path so we have a huge amount of things to share with others such as journeys, books, art...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I also am a lifelong learner and an autodidact I have always loved school and university was my absolute favorite. However, now that I'm out of school I continue to learn with free courses via EdX, Futurelearn, Coursera, etc. plus my own personal plan with many books, videos, and of course my love of taking notes and journaling. Love your channel!

Really liked this! I am definitely doing a lot of these things on this list and it really helps! Course, physically doing it, and putting it to work is my best way of learning something!

Thank you for this video, Mariana. It has really inspired me! I have been looking for a video like this one for a while now, it seems fitting that you'd be the one to eventually make it! I have been binge-watching your videos lately and finally started using Notion. I'm sitting down now to start using it to create a reading journal for a non-fiction book I'm reading. I consider myself a kinesthetic learner and tend not to feel like I absorbed information after reading a book so I will combine all of these things you mentioned here to create a "curriculum" for myself like I was still in school. Love it!

all the time i think to me a student though i have no academy. Nowadays it's too difficult for me to go to any academy and continue my study. But really i want to learn, i want to know more and more but I don't have enough time and other things. However I didn't stop my own study, i study well by myself and it makes me happy that i didn't stop. i have a goal, i have a long journey.

We self learn in our homeschool and ive always been a self learner. My kids get the chance to master those skills early on and its ok to be patient with them because eventually they will be masters no matter their pace as long as they have good work ethic. My job is source material and I present them with direct source materials and they do the rest.

I accidentally stumbled across science fiction in 4th grade. This was before Star Trek. Science fiction writers back then were not the average guy. I ended up reading about Greek philosophers in 7th grade because Arthur C Clarke used Plato's Allegory of the Cave to explain reality as viewed via infrared in his book: A Fall of Moondust Waiting until after college to be a self learner is late. The schools are designed to sabotage children's minds. Become a good corporate drone. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Or you can, in certain States in the US have your tuition waived in the Public University System by enlisting with Uncle Sam. Post my 1st undergrad in Applied Math/CS I enlisted into the Naval Flight Program via AOCS, NAS Pensacola, and did my Time ingrade. Then undergrads 2-4 including Labs, as all three undergrads were in the STEM Disciplines, and my grad work, cost me 20K total. Being autodidactic is great but try learning grad level Linear Algebra by yourself. I received the coursework from MIT Profs, who made it possible for even me to grasp the material, well.

@@FintyLovatt Awesome choice. I love psychology as well. I recommend man search for meaning by Viktor Frankl if you were looking for a book recommendation. It is great for professionals in the field but also for anyone just interested in psychology. He talks about how everyone needs a purpose, meaning in our lives no matter who we are and where we come from. Something to add to the consider is the author with a survivor of a concentration camp. His experiences helped him develop therapy as those exact practises helped him when he was trying to survive. Not sure if you’re looking for a book but I feel like I cannot talk about psychology without mentioning this book ha ha. Do you have any recommendations for me?
