Great advice! I try to always be kind; even to people who may not deserve it, as well as to strangers when I’m out in public. You never know what may be going on in somebody’s life - small acts of kindness from strangers have made my day many times, so I like to do the same for others whenever I can. The concept of not reacting immediately to a situation is really a good one. I’ve never been sorry for holding my tongue in difficult circumstances, but I’ve had quite a few regrets after giving in to the impulse to react. You’re right - it is often very embarrassing after whatever emotion you’re feeling in that moment is diffused.
