I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Marie-Antoinette. The minute her carriage crossed over the border to France, she was stripped of all her clothing and her little dog was taken away from her. The French people hated her from that moment on. I hope she is in Heaven united with her Swedish Nobleman. Peace and Light to their Spirits. ❤️🇫🇷❤️

I didn’t see 100% of Marie Antoinette’s betrayal here.. Yes, there are love letters, but again Fersen confesses his love, and although she reciprocates his love, she writes "My dear delicate friend" (but was it still treason?). As a result, it turns out that neither the King had mistresses, nor the Queen had lovers. Eventually, this Royal couple was the most faithful couple to each other, besides, she did not abandon Louis 16 in 1789 when she could have left and saved herself, she remained with the king until the very end. Added. Yes, at 3:38 minutes she confesses her love, but was it hot love? That's the question. That is, I mean did she actually cheat on the King or are these just declarations of love only in correspondence. I would like to note that Marie-Аntoinette confessed her “love” even to her best friends, so now she’s a lesbian or what ?

C'est pourquoi je ne dirais pas "completely wrong" Sorry : I'm presently too tired to write in English on the delicate questions related transcription & translation...

I agree with Jessica : the historians generally explain that the queen became a scapegoat precisely because the mistakes of the king / "government" couldn't be transferred to a royal mistress or favourite as it previously was the case (in order to preserve the person of the king as "our good king", "father of his peoples" - the plural is voluntary, France at the time being made of various populations with different languages, manners & customs etc)
