Thank you for the video. This story is an excellent symbolic map for navigating, discovering and asserting your authority. Asserting your authority and creating boundaries is not only a problem for princesses, but anyone who is unable to assert themselves regardless of the situation.

I saw that you said white cat... I just lost my little buddy and my heart is broken. I’ve learned a lot from my cat and from jung books and so let’s see if this resonates with you. Both the frog and the cat are connected to magic and they are said to be witches animals. The frog was mostly used in fertility rights ( see the Colorado river toad, and the feminine in fairy tales by MLVF). Marie also said that if the frog says he was once a prince, but now he is a frog...He has been bewitched by some collective bias and regressed in evolution.. The cat could mean the feminine... also it can mean instinct. Whichever one it means it’s a young kitten so maybe it’s a new creative impulse? Reptiles are more primitive and cold blooded. I saw on a documentary these frogs who ate their smaller brothers and sisters so they could get a better start in life (The Elephant Queen). Compassion is a key element in the transition from reptile to mammal (Stephen Porges). There’s something more with the mouth too... I’ll have to think about it more. What do you think? I miss my cat.

Eh, I take them for what they are worth, different versions. That can't be helped. Edit: Plus, to make the main point the expression of her Animus in the act of throwing the frog is derivative, not to undermine it but as complementary. Surely satisfactory personally but I think a kiss is greater that this, of course marriage, comes first. You know?

The frog is the reptile, the thing that protects the child (unconscious survival). But in order to do so it had to cut off the princess from the full human capacity (gold). Hence, the frog (dragon) shows up at the advent of adulthood when the frog for the first time can be 'killed'. I wouldn't fret too much over the kiss. In Eastern fairy tales embracing the dragon is quite normal.

Another argument in favor of the kiss is Beauty and the Beast. This story is quite similar but suggest accepting the ugliness. I don't like the current Disney stuff, but it's quite possible their older classics made changes for the better.
