Ah this is the first time the concept of Animus actually "clicked" for me. It's composed of both positive and negative parts. By integrating the Animus, you are keeping the positive aspects that elevate your life and choosing, voluntarily, to dispute the negative aspects and disallow possession. Brilliant.

Note how she concentrates on the negative animus. While it was her positive animus that allowed her to be so intellectually creative. This was a problem with Jung's conception of the animus. As a man, he overemphasized the negative aspects of the animus, whereas with men's anima, his treatment was more even-handed, acknowledging both its negative and its creative aspects. Subsequent generations of Jungian analysts and theoreticians have corrected this. But here you can see Von Franz following Jung's unbalanced view.

Jung did not comment on the Animus so much because he recognized, that being a man he could never truly explain it.With regard to the emphasis on concentrating on the negativ aspect of the Animus, when the Animus is in its most negativ,its in the least differentiated state, hence the simplest state, it would require a woman who has attained a highly differentiated state, as Jung has with his Anima to explain more wholly, he simply acknowledge the womans invaluable insight. Von Franz has elsewhere comments on the positiv aspect of the Animus, to single this talk out as a measure is simply foolish. With regards to moderen “Jungians” as Hillman for example, he is doing precisly the opposite of Jung, namely write and talk of things he havent experienced, lived, himself. If your interrested in learning more on the feminine part in a Jungian light, i suggest you should read Marion Woodmans works, and actual woman. But i must warn you, it does require a certain feeling tone, intellect and words wont get you far :)

@@danielantunes1060 lol. What kind of nonsense is this? Jungians comment on many things they have not themselves personally experienced. Jung commented on many things that he did not himself experience. He was never a puer aeternus type, but he had much to say on the puer. Jung was never bipolar or schizophrenic. Yet he commented on those things. As did Marie Louise von Franz who was never a masculine puer type. But she wrote an entire book on it. She comments often on the male anima, not having one herself. James Hillman had many experiences having undergone years of thorough Jungian analysis himself as well as having worked as an analyst for decades. You seem very confused about Jungianism. It might be helpful if you underwent an analysis yourself to see how it really works.

He was also happy that his theories found an increasing audience. He even founded an Institute in Zurich in 1948 for the promulgation of his theories and the training of analysts to carry on his techniques and ideas. Despite his self-effacing claim that only he could be a Jungian, he established a Jungian school of analytic psychology, which became and remains an -ism. People who use his theories and techniques collaborate professionally on an international level through the International Association of Analytical Psychologists (IAAP) and the International Association for Jungian Studies (IAJS). You'd better tell the ghost of von Franz she wasn't a Jungian analyst. 😂😂😂 Marie-Louise von Franz Bio Marie-Louise von Franz was a Swiss Jungian psychologist and scholar, renowned for her psychological interpretations of fairy tales and of alchemical manuscripts.
