I just bought a new dress, which I thought was going back and then happen to watch this video! It solved all the problems with the dress as well as gave me several options on different ways to wear it - what a fabulous video so glad I saw it today.

I love the expression "shop your closet": it has helped me get more use out of pieces that I already own. After watching no more that a dozen of your videos, I have [successfully, I believe] been able to streamline and organize my wardrobe, while eliminating everything that did not fit or flatter or work with other pieces [and to donate 5 large bags of good clothes to charity as well]. I still have a lot of clothes to wear that are more suitable to me, my life and my style. I can now mix and match better, and change up items to create different looks. This helps me shop more critically as well, and it helps me to 'pass' on items that are not versatile and to recognize what is a piece worthy of investment. I now buy fewer but better items. I cannot emphasize how helpful and encouraging this has been after over a year and a half of wearing only very casual clothing while working from home and finding myself feeling rather helpless to dress myself again once I went back out in the world. I raise a glass of vin rouge "a votre sante" and with sincere thanks.

Thank you for this great video! I really like the way you used several examples to show us how to make one dress work (and what doesn't work with it). That was very helpful to me, seeing the items on instead of just hearing how to wear things. You are a wonderful teacher!😊 ❤️ Marietta Anderson

I'm typically resistant to advice just "because" I hate being told what to do BUT as I listen to you and see you go through the explanation and showing the style variations, I find you totally brilliant . I need a complete closet makeover because I've fallen into the very frumpy category due to the need for comfort. I live in an extremely hot and humid area with only a month or two where light layers are doable. I need to take what you say and translate it to my environment. Thank you for such thorough advice.

Excellent styling masterclass, Marie-Anne. I enjoyed so much this. That red midi dress is gorgeous and I agree that midi dresses look best with knee high boots with a heel. Loved your black jackets, black Hobbs belt, black blouses and also black scarf. You're right about the grey chevron/herringbone jacket even when it's such a beautiful garment as well but doesn't go with that lovely dress. I love to take much inspiration from you due to your impeccable taste and knowledge as a French Chic Style expert, also because my frame is similar to yours as well as my colouring. I have several printed midi dresses to style following your tips to create more stylish outfits. Merci beaucoup 🙏🏻

Your best advice was "try it on. Does it work for you?" That was golden. We need to trust our own perceptions. Thank you! I'm 6' tall and curvy. I'd go with the nude pumps because the boots would be too Amazonian for me! I already intimidate even without trying.

Marie-Anne! I never get tired of your videos. I really appreciate the fact that your aim is to help people develop a discerning eye to judge whether or not an outfit works for them in terms of their body shape, height and skin tone using the clothes they actually possess. Yes! Absolutely. First thought- nude pump or heeled boot. And a belt!! This is my go to for elevating a look. Put a belt on it!!! Even better, a jacket thrown over top of that dress - cuff and push the sleeves of the jacket up your arm. And maybe even belt over the jacket instead of the dress!! ♥️ Haha! The cerulean blue belt!!!!😄💙 Oh and yes, a wider belt works better. Because when the belt is too skinny it kind of looks like you added a horizontal stripe around your middle. A medium to wide belt adds more interest and breaks up the flowy fabric and the floral print. Interest!😄👍🏻 I just noticed you belted the jacket at the end! 😂All your tips -spot on!! Build. Build. Build those layers. But not too much, right? Coco Chanel said, before you leave the house, take one thing off. (That probably good advice for us Americans!)😊♥️
