Marie I have seven cats that I feed. I have two of them indoors. The rest are outside. But they are very well fed. All are spayed or neutered. That way they don’t put out more unwanted fur babies. I adore them all. Cats and dogs are so smart. They each have their own unique personalities. God bless you for taking this little guy in.

Your new kitty is adorable. What we use to do during the holidays is We would eat holiday lunch at my parents house. We would go to my inlaws for holiday dinner. If anyone else wanted us to come over we would eat dessert at their house. It worked perfectly for our family.

How precious is your kitty! That was so sweet of you and your family to adopt him and give him a nice home. He looks so similar to my aunts cat Toby she found him when he was around a year old he was a stray and he had several wounds and infections from being mistreated, he also had a bullet from a BB gun in him. My aunt took him to the vet got him all fixed up and now he is part of the family.

Heyyy sweet friend, go get/buy a heating pad for Helios. I've used them with my babies ( kitties) and they've worked wonderfully. This way you don't have to sit In front of the heater with him, and he can go snuggle up on top of the heating pad when he's cold, the pad I have automatically goes off after an hour or two which Is nice. Hello Marie, my families used to rent the community building during the holidays so everyone could be together and everyone brought a dish for a big Thanksgiving meal. Marie Orange cats are insane! We have three stops to make at Thanksgiving. The 1st one we do breakfast with the 2nd will have food at lunch time, and the 3rd will have their food around dinner time. It's a lot, and we are always stuffed by the end of the day. Christmas Eve, we have two stops and one on Christmas. We worry more about seeing our grandparents who are now great grandparents and don't travel as well. When the kids get a little bigger, we will travel for Christmas Eve and stay home on Christmas. It really becomes a lot, and my husband and I traveled to multiple houses as kids and are honestly over it.

I live in a apartment so I can't bring it inside but I make sure it has food and water. The cat be at my door before 5 in the morning ready to eat. I get up early so I don't mind. When my children were small, I've said many many times that I hated Christmas eve and Christmas day. I had 3 places to be on Christmas eve at 6 o'clock. We'll we were always late to a couple. Then I had to come home and entertain my mom and step dad. They would be waiting at my house. Then I had to do what we do on Christmas eve night. ( you know what I mean, I was a single parent for 10 years). I had to cook Christmas dinner and everything that goes with it. We'll now my boys are grown. One still lives at home with my husband and me. The oldest is married with 2 babies of his own now. He does all holiday things with his wife's mom and brother or her friends. If we want to see them on Christmas we have to go to his house early in the morning so they can do her mom's Christmas. Then it's just me, my husband and my other son. All of my families that I had to go to are now passed away. I have no family now except my boys and husband. It's so lonely and depressing when my oldest doesn't come to spend time with us on Thanksgiving or Christmas. I didn't even cook Thanksgiving. We went out. I'd go out Christmas too if there were any places open. The thing is, I baby sit for my son at his house 4 days a week. That's the only way that I see him. Work out a schedule. I know it's hard but in the long run it's worth it all.

Hey Friend, Happy Monday. Aww I’m so glad that you decided to keep the kitten and that Luna warmed up to him quickly. I would hate if he turned into a kitty treat. I love the names for your cats Luna and helios. Me and my mom have a total of five cats (2 are the sons of spray cats and the other three were children of a spray cat that showed up on our door step). We have had plenty of animals dropped off on our property even my dog was a spray who showed up on our door step. 😢😊 I have 2 families to spend the holidays with but me and my boyfriend decided to alternate between them. For Thanksgiving we went to his family’s and for Christmas we are going to mine. That way we see each family and it’s not stressful on us. Luckily my parents are still together after thirty years and my boyfriend unfortunately only has his dad still alive. 😢😊🥰☃️🎅🎄❄️

Commenting again to add that with my family we see my Dad, and then another day we see my Mom. Add my brother and his family into the mix, and things get complicated. We used to have 3 when my in-laws were home for Christmas, but now they spend the winter in Mexico. It’s a lot to juggle sometimes.

If my husband wasn’t allergic, I would so get a cat. They’re so low maintenance, and they will gladly just chill & snuggle (my fave!). I also love that they catch spiders & lizards & all sorts of pests if they ever get in the house. Helios is adorable!

We used to swap families for Thanksgiving. One year for my family and the next was for my husband’s. Christmas was easier. For Christmas we celebrated with one side on Christmas Eve and the other on Christmas. With smaller children it is hard though. They just want to play with their things on Christmas. 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Lucky to retire and now living in the south, those portable heaters are a necessity here. There are many days that you don't need to be heating your whole house & space heaters are perfect. Congratulations on your new kitty. He could not have found a more loving home than yours. Advice someone gave me a long time ago was to start clipping their claws early and make it a cuddle time experience. I did this with my cat from the beginning and it takes me no more than 5 minutes to do all her claws. She sits in my lap with her face rubbing mine while I clip. And why do I talk about clipping nails...well, having had a cleaning business for years, I cannot tell you how many clients furniture was torn up with cat scratching. This tends to happen more with older cats than kittens. I don't know if I'm just lucky, but our cat Lilly is now 11 years old and has never scratched on our furniture. We do have cat scratching posts too, of course. I agree with your husband on holidays and stress. There are so many obligations to meet with holidays. God Bless you sweet Marie.

Hwy Marie i agree on how hard it can be during the holidays. Sometimes i wish i had that united family that all came together with the grandparents and celebrated but unfortunately my family isn't like that. For many years i only did holidays at my husbands side of the family but not to be mean they are mexicans with different point of views of thanksgiving and Christmas and have not gathered with them anymore. On my side of the family i have no grandparents and dont know my dad or hes side of the family and well as for my 4 sisters, the oldest has said she doesn't like me and is jealous of me. The sister after me doesn't talk to me and has recently wished the worst upon me and my 2 younger sisters well last year we did celebrate at my house since im the only sister that has a house for us 5 the others rent in apartments. And well my mom, shes really never been much of my life since i moved out at 18 year old and went to live with a friend with not even 1 penny to my name. But this thanksgiving we skipped it and qent to universal studios with my husband and the kids and well Christmas theres no plan so far but most likely it will be just me and my own little family cause i dont want to be around my husbands family cause thwy have been talking so bad about me for years and i just found out in October so im just staying away from them including my mother n law rhat i always talked great things about and ignored how bad she was with me. But like i told my husband just cause of my decision dont stay away for your family for the holidays. But yeah rhe holidays have always been my favorite time of year but i definitely felt different this year for sure. Sometimes i think this is the sign for me to move away to another state

A couple years ago we stopped going to family and just stay home with are kids it’s to much. If my family wanted to celebrate before or after the actual day that would work but once your kids get older it’s hard to make your own traditions if you are running around everywhere

Love the kittie cats 🐈‍⬛ 🐈, I actually have 2 myself. I wanted to let you know for future reference that the cat food brand TEMPTATIONS is VERY BAD for cats. I noticed you didn’t have that kind when u showed the camera, BUT everytime I feed my cats that they threw up constantly. I have a friend who used to work at a vet clinic and she asked me what I fed my 2 cats and I told her and she was like OH NO OH NO CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY! So I was like ummm ooook lol. After a while of them vomiting, I narrowed down what it could’ve been and she was right. So NO TO TEMPTATIONS…EVEN THE TREATS. I feed my cats FRISKIES and they’re fine with that. Also be careful what plants you put out. Cats like to eat them and they can either get them really sick or even death. Those Christmas poinsettias plants are EXTREMELY harmful to cats so don’t buy them. 😢
