Hope this housing is better than the 801 housing they use to have scattered also over northern NY. Some of that housing was 30-40 miles from post. Terrible cheaply built structures with loads of defects. One houing area was built on a old landfill. The quarters were full of black mold and had be closed. A lot of family members became ill and lawsuits ensued.

Awww man this video brought back so many great memories from when I used to live there when I was kid back in 2010-2013. I live on apple wood drive not sure where exactly it was located just remember the name of the street I lived on. But thank you for this video, brought tears to my eyes.❤️❤️

How does housing work at Drum? Do they try to keep certain ranks in certain neighborhoods? And according to their website there are homes that you can rent for less than BAH. How does that work?

Kind of! All of the neighborhoods have different areas for certain ranks. They place you by your rank and family size. So E-4 and below will be placed in JR enlisted. E5-E6 will be JNCO and E7 and above is senior NCO. The only way to get BAH back I think is if your an officer or senior NCO and choose to live in junior enlisted housing. When we lived in JENL housing we had an e-7 across the street from us and I think they were getting some money back on housing but I’m not positive. Hope that kind of helps you!

I believe the layouts are similar but a little more roomy and they also get 2 car garages!

I’m not 100% positive! I think it might depend on how many dependents you have too but when we first got to Drum we lived in E4 housing and had two kids and we lived in Monument Ridge! I have a furnished house tour and an empty house tour of that house on my channel if you scroll back a ways tho!
