Drum was my first duty station back in '87, stayed on the old post while the new one was being built. I need to go back and visit, I would love you see all the additions.

I used to live by Fort Drum, my mom was a Seargeant, and we would sometimes go in base to go to the gym with a indoor pool, I remember some stuff while living their, and that gas station you passed , I actually remember going in there many times.

I lived in NNY for 15 years...7 years on the base ❤ thanks for the tour, so many childhood memories coming back ❤ you passed my old neighborhood, which btw use to have Individual names ..sucks they changed that . we used to walk to the 24 hr shoppette all the time too but everyone just called it the mini mall then. We also used to ride our bikes to Monti gym ...wasn't called that back in the day.. I cant remember what it was called lol we rode our bikes all over that base lol ❤❤ it was nice to see Clark hall 🥰 my mom works there!.. I miss home ❤

Drum was a lovely place I was there in the early 2000’s I’m still tight with my Bro’s f but that place we just too cold!

I would like to say this brought back memories for me but when I was there, between 1980-1988 before the 10th MID was reactivated, NONE of these buildings were there. All it was was forest and dilapidated 2 level prefabs and a topless bar off the main gate. My ARNG Unit, 1/156 Field Artillery became a sister unit of the 10th MID and gotta love that cold weather training (NOT) lol !! Thanks for updating me on how it changed since the 10th MID was reactivated there!!

Filled with meth heads dont leave your car unlocked and it gets dark as early as 3 some days in the winter the snow and cold is rough from the northern breeze and the lake draft combination stay warm

@@DevCart94 not everywhere is filled with meth heads, unless you are from Ogdensburg. This area is very beautiful, especially in the winter. We got stationed here in 2004 & am still here. We live in the Tug Hill area.

I was only there for 8 months due to getting out medically, but it really was not as bad as everyone made it out to be. Of course it was a mild winter when I was there and the snow melted two weeks after I got there 🤣

I'm in AIT in fort Lee and I'm being stationed at fort drum, kinda scared because everyone keeps telling me it's such a bad place, I really hope it's not that bad, even if i get deployed all the time

Haha yeah, Drum definitely gets a lot of negative things said about it but we actually really love it here! The area is nice, the seasons are beautiful and there’s SO many travel opportunities nearby. Units vary but that’s everywhere in the Army unfortunately lol. My advice is try not to let others form an opinion for you and to come here with an open mind and check it out for yourself! I really hope you end up enjoying your time here!

S**T hole in 90-92 sure it still is. worst ever duty station ever, Ft riley is heaven compared to drum. 2/14 inf worst unit in 14 years.

We actually really loved our time in Drum haha which usually surprises a lot of people lol. Hoping to make it back there at some point! Fort Riley wasn’t too bad but not my first choice to return to. It felt so far away from everything!
