I like how Bakura says “don’t you realize that I *am* the Darkness?” This was foreshadowing that Bakura was Zorc, and by extension, the shadow realm. So why the hell should he fear losing a shadow game and being sent to the shadow realm? He IS the shadow realm! He was the whole anime’s MAIN villain lurking in the backdrops and the shadows the whole time; and NONE of us knew about his weight and peril as a villain until it was almost too late.

Interesting dynamic between Yami Bakura and Marik. He had Bakura convinced that there was a power beyond the combined powers of the Millenium Items, and there technically was in the form of the Creator of Light, but Marik didn't know about that. He thought only of the power of the Pharaoh controlling the 3 Gods, and Bakura's power with Zorc is stronger than that. But also, Marik doesn't know who Zorc is, so he thinks combining the 7 Millenium Items provides only the individual item's powers in one location. Convo basically goes: Marik: I seek a power greater than the 7 Items. Bakura: There's a power greater than Zorc?? Marik: What is that? Bakura: The origin of all darkness. Marik: ....okay, sounds fake, but anyway, when the 3 Gods are combined with the Pharaoh's spirit, unlimited power is born!! Bakura: Really?? Well, the Pharaoh lost his memories, and it would be better to gain the power that stopped Zorc the first time, rather than reviving Zorc himself. Alright Marik, you have a deal. *Later* Marik: *watching through the Millenium Necklace as Atem beats Zorc for good* Wait, THAT'S Zorc?? My Ra, I didn't know Bakura was that dangerous...he must've been planning to betray me if he had access to that kind of power, and holy Slifer, that Creator of Light is the Pharaoh's true power?? No wonder my evil half was so desperate to get it. My, the things I was so unaware of in my past...I was a fool... Yami Marik watching the Creator of Light beat Zorc: WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?? Among Yugioh villains, Dark Marik always felt like one of, if not _the_ biggest threat, which may be why he's so goddamn memorable. He killed Marik's father, drove Marik himself insane before imprisoning him in his own head, psychologically tortured Mai, made Bakura disappear and put Joey in a coma all while constantly trying to kill everyone, including his own siblings, and gleefully rigs the final duel so that either Yugi will die and the Pharaoh will be destroyed or Marik will die and Dark Marik will be free to wreak all the havoc he wants. But hey, he does have a sweet side, right? After all...he gives such good _hugs..._

My favorite part of this episode was bakurara fading into the darkness laughing foreshadowing what we all was wondering what bakuras dark side truly was and enjoying how bakura was basically acting the entire time he looked worried It’s also amazing seeing dark Mariks laughter and ignorance asking “what’s that supposed to mean” not knowing he’s gunna be tortured by Zorc once it’s his turn to join the shadow realm. To which he is petrified when it’s his turn to go but bakura is literally laughing embracing it like it’s his house cuz it literally is! Amazing story telling

Marik didn't comprehend that Bakura was playing the long game. His plot wasn't going to be won or lost off 1 duel. He had contingencies in place were he to lose. Marik was simply a mad dog off his leash, wanting to cause pain and chaos to everybody for his sheer amusement. He was the epitome of a sado-masochist. Bakura had been plotting his revenge long before Marik existed. Marik's victory was, at best, a mild inconvenience to Bakura.

While it is true that Marik sent Bakura to the Shadow Realm, for Yami Bakura it is an equivalent of Sauron being “forced” from Dol Guldor to Mordor; or Doctor Strange trapping Dormammu in his Dark Dimension; to put it simply as sending someone home or on vacation. Already post this on another comment on this video. Basically Yami Bakura was created from the either the greatest darkness or the earliest darkness depending on the dubbing. English Dub makes Zorc be a evil being that created the Shadow Realm at the beginning of time. While in the Japanese one he was an Evil God created from the inner Darkness of those souls used to create the 7 millennium items. And since Yami Bakura is a piece of Zorc and Thief King Bakura’s souls fused he was literally made of darkness.
