I can't believe that some of you are still bitching over Fish or Hogarth - just let it go for Gods sake - Marillion with Fish were great and I'm really pleased that Steve Hogarth has taken this superb band into 2011. You are all here looking at this video - why not enjoy the music for what it is, rather than finding imperfection all the time - all the group members are brilliant and gifted in their own way.

This song is just so beautiful. Steve Rothery is a master of caressing the emotion from the guitar and Steve Hogarth is a great story teller,plus the 3 other wonderful musicians in the band. They gel so wonderfully to make this incredible music ❤

Im a professional guitarrist since 1986, always fan of melody and the progressive rock, i hear gilmour during a long time,but when i hear rothary's guitar, still at the first albuns of marillion i fall in love by your lovely feeling, each note, precise and softly, theres not guitarrist better in my opinion, not by comparison,only by my feeling, and about hogart... i dont know...i used call him of "Magic" i love this band, i learn to love all about marillion.

Mr. Mark Kelly it's the most forgotten keyboard player of the history......he makes a fundamental work in every marillion album,..their sense of aesthetics and musicality is unique. I would like to see more comments about his fabulous work ...

Peace and Love ;)

I discovered Marillion through Brave, in 1994. I knew nothing of Fish. I thought: wonderful music. Exceptional, Gilmourish guitarist. Soulful, moving voice, perfectly placed (I was a singer and a guitar player in a semi-professional rock band). Then I saw a few videos... The current singer, H, is not as strong a frontman as Fish. But he has a splendid voice and sings perfectly LIVE. And this, believe me, is very RARE even among professionals.

Thanks to youtube Mr Rothery has now replaced David Gilmour as my second favourite guitarist. Slipped very creditably into that spot behind Alex Lifeson.

Seems that the same people bitching about Fish leaving Marillion are the same ones holding onto the dead dream about Gabriel rejoining Genesis... Christ people, just enjoy what they did when they were together, I'm fairly certain whatever happens if and when they could reunite would pale in comparison to the achievements of their past. Enjoy what we have!

I don't know why people complains about Hogarth fronting Marillion after Fish's departure. Is not like he changed the direction of the band to other genre like Collins did Genesis with his Pop shit. I love both Marillions the same. Peace.
@harry.lassche54234 жыл бұрын
Fish said he left the band because the people (record company?-not fans) wanted hit-singles like Kayleigh, Lavender and Incommunicado. So wrong, both era's with Fish and H have more 'deeper' songs and in my mind so much more depth. YES, both ones are very beautiful. Cliché, Seasons End, Lady let it lie, Great Escape, Tux-on, Fantastic Place, Remembrance Day, InvisibleMan, gentlemens exuse me..... And on and on and on, so much beautiful songs to play, so much more music that give you the trhrills..... No hits, but only songs with a heart, thank you both, Fish and H, for real music, and no bombastic hits coming out of a computer. Give to a fan a Marillion and Fish weekend, the hands were already shaken, that will be a great gig, some rest for Fish and 'H' during concert, and let do them both some songs But 'H' don't touch the Fish stuff, you did great songs after him, ooooh, I want to see them both, on one stage.

There is no match! Fish or Hogarth, leave competition, Like them both. listen to Weltschmerz from Fish, he's back and how. Hogarth kept marillion alive. But what else can you do with the red Marillion thread, Trewavas, Kelly, Mosley and ofcourse Rothery. never compare, both are doing a great job!

You're all high as Charlie Sheen. Hogarth is awesome. So crazy smooth, yet gravely at the same time. Fish is awesome, too, but in a different way. Personally, I prefer H Marillion to Fish Marillion. When Fish writes about drinking, heartache, divorce, hookers and blow, you know it's coming form first hand experience.
