Straightforward question from a Marillion fan, who has yet to purchase the new album! Could someone give me an unbiased opinion on how good or otherwise it really is? I wasn't a big fan of 'F.E.A.R', and found 'Murder Machines strangely lacking, so does it reach the dizzy heights of 'Marbles', or is it merely another average effort? Your honesty would be much appreciated!

The thing about Marillion, which cannot be said for every band that has been in my life so long (31 years and counting) is that I have always felt I was part of their family, and they are all brothers who genuinely love each other. And, this has always been and continues to be reflected in their music and words. Wonderful.

Not often I cry the first time I hear a song, but you've got this one spot on. These two years, we've been so afraid to show the people we love that we actually do, and there has been such a shortage of hugs, so many people that have gone without physical contact för far too long. And so much anxiety that one might have, unintentionally, have spread this horrible virus to someone vulnersble.

Another album that I am going to have to purchase. Great song. I had sort of given up hope on Marillion when Fish left the band. As good as he was Hogarth puts so much more emotion into his songs. I think the instrumental is pretty good, particularly another top notch guitar piece from Rothery, with the rhythm section of Ian and Pete delivering as always. You can tell Hogarth has put his heart into his writing and singing for this album, as he always does. I think the way that he takes everyday topics and makes them sound beautiful is always inspiring. Overall, a very good song and I’m even more excited for the album than I already was. A un moment donné, Steve Hogarth s'adresse au public nous disant en ces termes : we are not lestened to the radio aren't we ? ( on ne passe pas à la radio n'est ce pas ?) Puis il enchaîne par : so why are you there ?

@ghusthaav19882 жыл бұрын
A suivre toutefois. Merci encore. Certes l'album Clutching at Straws est fabuleux. (Source Wikipedia)
@Serbagavi40642 жыл бұрын

This band is sooooo vastly underrated. The musicianship of all the members is just outstanding. I saw them when they first performed with H at the Park West in Chicago...many, many, many years ago...performing Holidays in Eden. Was very fortunate to see them again a number of years ago at a super small venue (Arcadia Theatre) in St. Charles, IL. Wish they would come to the Chicago area more often. Can't wait for this CD to come out. It sounds like it will be another good one.
