One of the most important albums for me personally, shaping my musical taste as a teenager and cementing my love for the band. Still remember the note in the booklet: listen to it loud with the lights off. And what an impact it's made. Incredible it's 30 years already... Thank you, Marillion!

Brave is such a special album. As the years go by and life evolves, I keep finding new layers of emotions in it. Some parts hit differently now that they did before. It's kind of therapeutic in a way to confront it with the new things you understand about yourself. But no matter what, it always sounds just so beautiful.

A masterpiece. It took me about 30 years, but I just realized that the story is actually the imagined narrative created in the narrator's mind about what he/she imagines the girl on the bridge has experienced. Most likely the story he/she imagines is really his own story.

Tonight I'm going to watch the album. Have listened to it countless times but have watched it maybe 3 times as I find it too emotional.... They did a great job, definitely one of the top 3 albums together with Marbles and FEAR. Simply, Marillion - a better way of life. Thank you ❤.

I remember listening to this on a walkman in school. I bought that album on casette. Jesus, I am getting old. 30 Years, still think it is a great album and it really to me stood for "new" Marillion. I mean truth be told I was such a young lad, listening to the fish albums I was not aware of the change that happened. It sounded different, but boy was it good. Keep up the good work guys! But man....how time flies.

We saw them perform the whole album on the Saturday night at the UK Marillion Weekend (2013?). We knew it would be special, so we chose a seated position for that night, on the balcony, overlooking the stage. Oh my. I have never experienced anything like it and the thought of it still moves me now, 11 years later. When they finished the album the whole place was quiet, stunned, very moved and a little broken. Steve had to snap us out of it! 😁 Thankfully they played Made Again, to reset us. One of the most poignant experiences of my life.

My favourite Marillion album and one of my all time favourites of any band or artist. I remember listening to it for the first time in the dark in my bedroom, headphones on and playing it on my CD Discman. Pretty heavy stuff for a 16 year old to try to absorb, I remember calling my best mate who was also a fan and telling him after the first listen I didn't like it and I didn't get it. He told me to listen again and then listen to it again and see if I feel the same.. I didn't. I was lucky enough to see them on their UK Brave tour twice, it was almost a spiritual experience. Congratulations on 30 years, wow time certainly waits for nobody. Regards from New Zealand

My favourite Marillion album and the one that really turned me onto the band. About 20 years ago I got chatting to someone in the pub who was wearing a Fish TShirt. I'd seen him a few times and he *always* had a Fish TShirt on, so I thought I'd strike up the conversation. He was saying he didn't much like "new" Marillion and I said, "No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. They're fantastic!" He seemed interested and I mentioned Brave being a particularly good album. I continued to talk about it and after about 10 seconds the penny dropped for him and his face darkened. "Is that the one where he's singing about the girl and the bridge"?. I said it was. He grew visibly agitated and stalked away. He never spoke to me again. I see him occasionally about town. He still wears the Fish TShirts and he's most likely still angry.

When the album came out I decided to listen to it on the bus on my way to work at 5 o'clock in the morning. Just a few minutes into the album I had to tear my headphones off and stop listening, because of being totally overwhelmed by the atmosphere and the strength that came with the music. Far too much and too depressing for someone who had gotten up at 4:15 in icecold and dark Hamburg. Incredible how quickly I was drawn into this album. I will never forget that moment. Later in the evening I listened to the album loud and with the lights off. What an incredible journey that was. Gives me goosebumps even after 30 years.
