When he was riding that huge pig he was a burned (to a crisp) cowboy like a metaphore on the state of America, surreal dark imagery which work on more levels then one...He was painted like this one more time and that was the live performance on MTV Europe Music Awards in 1999, there you see more of an burned effect i guess.

I can honestly say that I'm so thankful that I was around to see and appreciate Marilyn Manson's peak years at a time when artists put time and thought into music videos to create a clip that visually FREAKS OUT the public... No artist in the current scene has been able to produce something this controversial and disturbing visually. This was from 1995 and it was an unexpected hit on MTV because "Sweet dreams" was a cover of Eurythmics (I'm sure singer Annie Lennox was more than shocked when she saw & heard this!) from an EP called 'Smells like children'... In 1996, Marilyn Manson outdid himself w/ the album 'Antichrist Superstar' which seriously triggered the Christian religious right... and the visually disturbing music video for 'The Beautiful People' put the album in the US top 5 and it sold platinum (1 million copies) in the US... followed by the music videos for 'Torniquet'... 'Man that you fear'...
