Marilyn was proof that beauty, grace, money, fame and talent doesn't bring you happiness. When I see Marilyn you can see the pain and unhappiness in her eyes. If she only knew how much she was loved and still is even 55 years after her death. RIP Marilyn..I hope you are at peace now.

@@Johnwick-vv4cj I read an article in Playboy magazine that the interviewer was told by a housekeeper named Lena Pepitone that worked for Marilyn was actually murdered by the Secret Service. Apparently a doctor was brought in because she was distraught and bothering the Kennedy Brothers in her emaciated state. According to Ms. Pepitone, Marilyn was sleep and this doctor gave her a shot(injection) and she said that she heard Marilyn's body make a loud pop sound and then she was dead. Everyone left and she was " discovered" the following morning.

I met many times Marilyn, or my Aunt as I called her due to the fact that my Uncle Joe was married to her and once in my family, you are never out. He never ceased to refer to her as his wife and I do know they were planning on remarrying. Shelly W. is wrong, whom I have also met. We in the family know what happened. But that is not why I am posting this. I never did see her orphanage. Thanks for the video. I still miss old Hollywood and lived there for years after NYC. Keep up the good work!

@Donatello DiMaggio Ive read they were going to remarry and I've seen the pics of them at the beach (as a couple just relaxing) maybe weeks or less before her death , thank you for sharing .... I do NOT believe she killed herself or died of an accidental over dose, I feel she was happy her and Joe had matured and come to an understanding of what each needed out of love and were both willing to give it their all and she loved his Son and was one of the last people she spoke to on the phone the day she died

When Marilyn passed Joe had a contract with a florist to deliver fresh roses to Marilyns crypt once a week for the next 20 years. Plus J. Howard Marshal rented Marilyns house for Anna Nicole Smith to live in because she was such a fan.

Thank you, for making this video. I have been a fan since 11yrs old. Marilyn (Norma Jean) married her first husband Jim, not because he was in the military, but because she didn't want to be sent back to the orphanage. BTW she did drink quite a bit during her last years, which is a very bad mix with pills. I love Marilyn and hope that she is resting in peace. On a side note, she was rehired for a much higher salary than her original with director approval. She was also very proud of the house that she purchased and passed away in. Some of the furniture she picked out didn't even arrive until after her death. She was alot stronger than people give her credit, but I think she tried to show her strength and defiance to the wrong people.

Jordan, did you ever read Susan Strasberg's book? It really gave some insight into Marilyn's issues. One moment she described was that Susan was walking with Marilyn, who was wearing sunglasses and a scarf over her head. No one noticed them or recognized her. She turned to Susan and asked, "Do you want to see ME become HER?" Susan watched as Marilyn took off her glasses and scarf and as Susan said "made some inner adjustment", and in seconds people were swarming them. I think that Marilyn was a commodity to so many. She was never properly diagnosed or treated; they also did not have the knowledge that exists now. Very sad story. She was used by so many.

Awesome Jordan. Love it. The loss of Marilyn was a blow to 2oth Century Fox. The unfinished film, Something's Got To Give, was farmed around to see if any leading actresses would accept the role and do the film. However most of the people in the cast bolted. Shirley McLaine turned it down as well as all the other actors. When they approached Doris Day a deal was struck that Doris would do the film (sans the nude scene) and Doris would do two additional films for 20th Century Fox after this one. One every other year. Those films were "Do Not Disturb" 1965 and "Caprice" 1967. Although Doris did not do a nude scene for MOD, she did sing a VERY sexy title theme that was a hit around the world, especially in England. It was written by her 21 year old son, Terry Melcher. Doris was very important toward helping to save 20th C.F. from bankruptcy because of the unheard of costs associated with "Cleopatra". Adjusted for inflation, "Cleopatra" I believe is still considered the most expensive film of all time. It was supposed to be shown in two consecutive nights. Three hours each night because they didn't think people would sit through a 6 hour film. But instead Zanuck had the film cut down to 3.5 hours or so with an intermission. I think it is one of the MOST beautiful films ever made. So we can thank Doris Day and also "The Sound Of Music" for saving Fox. I'm sure there are some others to be kudoed as well. Take care......kiss Jah on that snout for me......J

Ive been wanting to go to Marilyn's last home since I was 12 years old, Its been 50 years now and I think Im getting closer to making a trip to LA and will be covering the whole city for maybe a couple of weeks or so and get to see my idols birthplace ,finally. Really enjoyed this.Im not sure about her death,I always thought it was like Shelley said, an horrible accident .But over the past few years Im rethinking her death and feel she was murdred and that one day the files will be released when anyone involved will be long gone.

My family rarely went to movies so I was never much interested in the stars like most people are. I do enjoy hearing about the history of Hollywood though, especially the '30s - '50s era. well done on 500 however Marilyn did not work for fox for the last couple of years of her life because she didn't want to work for them. she only agreed to make the film to finish her contract with them. the reason she made films for other studios is because she had a clause in her contract allowing her to make 1 film a year for other companies. during the making of somethings got to give she had chronic sinusitis very painful. I agree with shelley on how she died though. nice vlog love the channel xxx

What a wonderful episode. Marilyn's resting place and house! Marilyn was pregnant several times but unfortunately they were tubular. Her marriages to diMaggio and Miller were doomed before they began with the unrealistic assumption on their parts, Miller more than Joe, that once married she would give up her career and be the stay at home dutiful wife taking care of them and giving them children as women were meant to do. She had expressed as much publicly.

CONGRATS on 500 Jordan!!! Fantastic job! Just curious if you could elaborate on the flowers changing on Hef’s grave. Figure it was someone paying their respects.

Thank you for this! I love Marilyn Monroe and someday I hope to make a trip out to visit her grave and last home. My husband asked me if I want to go to Hawaii since we never had a honeymoon thirty-seven years ago and now the kids are grown and moved on, I said no, I want to go and see Marilyn. Well, we will see, lol. Give Jah a hug and kiss and you take care and thank you for your wonderful vlogs!! God Bless.
