I have really bad news. I used to work at this hotel and while we didn’t have to sign anything we were told not to mention this but I kinda don’t care so the original mirror was actually broken and tossed away in the early 80s. It’s funny how many people swear to see something but it’s now just a normal mirror with a story attached.

I love the Roosevelt Hotel. I've been there so many times, but never stayed there. I always wanted to see the mirror, but they had it upstairs and if you weren't a guest then they wouldn't let you go up the elevator. Also room 928 is suppose to be haunted by the ghost of Montgomery Clift. Back in the day he was going to be in a movie and he played a bugel in it. Well, he stayed in room 928 and practised out in the hallway. To this day people still say that they can hear a bugel playing in the hallway where room 928 is. Another thumbs to a brilliant video. Love the research you did. Very well done. Love your videos.

There was such a 'grimm' side to MM's life... love that you covered the haunted mirror
@jessickalee905
@jessickalee905 3 жыл бұрын
Being an avid Marilyn fan, I’ve been lucky enough to visit this mirror a few times in my life and every time I’ve been around it the feelings were extremely intense. My heart was also beating fast and I felt such a heavy sadness. At one point I saw a shadow of ‘MM’ in the corners above it (at this time it was located upstairs across from the hotel shop.) Anyway, the first time I saw it, I was with my mother who does not believe in anything supernatural at all. She was having drinks with some friends in the sitting area and after finding the mirror alone, I ran to grab her to come take a look to feel what I was feeling. She of course, being my mother, made fun of the whole thing and thought I was being ridiculous. She went up to the mirror and waved her hand in front of it and taunted in a singsong voice ‘Marilyn - Come out and get me!’ and laughed at how silly I was being to think it held any kind of presence. A few moments later, we were standing nearby trying to figure out our next move when all of a sudden my mom shrank in height. We looked down, and the heel of one of her brand new Manolos had sliced clean right off. She wasn’t even moving when it happened. I immediately freaked out and said ‘Marilyn broke your shoe!!!’ and was secretly so excited by it. To this day my mother thinks it was just a fluke - but I like to think that Marilyn got her ;)

@@bobjones2460 I stayed in a room in about 1999 (before the renovation)that had a sealed door in it. I assume it once connected 2 rooms. There was no handle. My mum and I both woke during the night to what sounded like a door handle being turned. From our side of the room. It went on for awhile. We also went down to the blossom room one day (where the Oscar’s were held many years ago). And it was ice cold. Like inexplicably so.

I know when my husband and I did ghost hunting, we always took pictures of the mirror and that’s when a spirit would manifest in the picture. this video was so amazing and what you two are doing is amazing your keeping history alive and telling the stories to others to who might not know the history of this stuff and it amazing keep up the good work, also on another note idk how well you two know about the paranormal itself but what jessica was feeling could be a result in a spirit trying to take her energy in order to try and manifest itself in any shape or form in anyway possible it's very common in the paranormal world.

I love the Roosevelt Hotel. And not too far away is the old Knickerbocker Hotel which is now apartments and a retirement home. That place is really haunted. In the 1970s I used to take acting lessons at a studio on the first floor I believe (my old stoner memory is slipping). There were plenty of ghost stories in that building. Marilyn Monroe is also said to haunt the Knickerbocker. She used to go there all the time with Joe DiMaggio for drinks. D.W. Griffith’s ghost also will make an appearance… and William Frawley (Fred Mertz from I Love Lucy) died in the lobby in 1966. Maybe the people who runs the now retirement home will let you explore. Also another great haunted L.A. hotel is The Biltmore in Downtown L.A. Every time I’ve been there I’ve seen or felt something. As a native Angeleno the Biltmore was always a great staycation place. In the middle of the night try roaming the hallways… You will hear creepy magic all around you. Anyway… I’m rambling. I’m glad you Michael and Jessica are out here in L.A./ Hollywood. I live here as well. A stone’s throw from the old Chaplin Studios (speaking of ghosts)… You can feel Charlie Chaplin’s spirt at LaBrea and DeLongpre. #RockOn ✌🏽

I've stayed at the HR twice, once in 1989 and once in 1990. The Chaplin statute used to be in the lobby right next to the ballroom. I can't tell you how many times I stood in front of the mirror and saw nothing. I did it at midnight, the witching hour. Nothing. They moved the mirror too. It used to be near the vallet area.
