@frankoceanstanaccount71266 жыл бұрын
@Dharmabum9287 you are missing the point here. I'm talking about movies, how us, mexican people never have the oportunity to see real mexican representation in cinema. Roma has been released around the world on Netflix, galas, awards and festivals. That means a lot of people has seen THE MOVIE. A movie that shows a diferent part of our culture and people. Are you latino? If you aren't then you won't get how important is to see an indigenous woman getting praise worldwide

I believe he meant it since Yalitza is indigenous. I totally agree and is why Cuarón made the movie. To show the different social classes. Just like in the US, Mexico also suffers from racism as well as social stratification. Cuarón breaks this cookie cutter mold of the “perfect” women represented in telenovelas and gives us the REAL Mexico. The women/backbone of the country and demonstrates to the world a side of Mexico that many times goes unnoticed. Que Viva México Lindo Y Querido!

Jimmy, I love you, man, but this is so infuriating. You missed the most important part of why Yalitza has become such an icon in Mexico. She is the very first Native American woman, of Mexican descent (Mixtec), to be in such an important role in a mainstream movie. Native actors in Mexico are still being discriminated and are never put in prominent roles. As a matter of fact, she’s been a victim of nasty racists comments from a sector of the Mexican population who feel she’s inferior for being Native. I think you could have done a better job, Jimmy. Rosas Rosas it’s not an achievement for the country... mostly coming from a country that marginalised people like her, it’s her achievement and her’s only, and in Mexico of course there’s a lot of women that have done great things and have been role models... the problem is that our culture does not prioritise women’s achievements, and as a country we don’t acknowledge other Mexican’s success...

Contacto Le Quotidien that’s exactly why it’s an achievement for the country!because people like her are marginalized..sadly. It’s an improvement and a step forward.I can tell that the people are so proud of her. Even with that, there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done.

Para mí gusto también está bonita, pero cada quien tiene sus gustos, y nunca falta el imbécil que por no hacérsele bonita la ofenda. Saludos.

If I already loved Jimmy before, now I love him even more. I recently saw this film for me is a masterpiece. I'm not Mexican, I'm from Central America and I feel represented. Representation matters, so proud for this amazing girl Yalitza ❤

Just watched Roma the other day and liked it. The plot was simple but was not boring at all. In fact kept me on my seat the whole time. I don’t even speak spanish and i always hate reading CC but the storyline is very interesting.

why is the supporting actress sitting as the main guest and the main actress like a random guest..? lol hollywood...
@israelleonchacon92916 жыл бұрын
Because the main chair is for one person only. And Guillermo is big
@OdettaBOOOM6 жыл бұрын
Israel Leon Chacon why is he translating in the first place? because he knows Spanish? Kimmel can’t afford a translator (that actually knows how to translate and doesn’t even have to be visible let alone sit next to her)? I have worked in LA for a little too long to know how the cookie crumbles but yeah let’s say they’re just practical-minded..
@MariaMartinez-we3ip6 жыл бұрын
OdettaBOOOM I was wondering why Kimmel couldn’t have just had Marina translate. 🤷🏻♀️
@crisbernabe28666 жыл бұрын
BC one knows English, one doesn’t. It’s funnier with Guillermo translating. Plus she got the most attention. Nothing to see here.
@florcita726 жыл бұрын
Yes! And why does she have to share her chair? This young girl having to squeeze to fit this older man next to her, all up in her space is so wrong. This is harassment
