As a local Bangkok, Thai people really love to eat in buffet restaurants. Prices range from 159 - 15,xxx baht/person, base on the type of restaurant. There are many famous buffet restaurants that offer 'MARINATED crab, salmon, hamachi, hotate, shrimp' as well as a variety of high quality sashimi, sushi and famous dish of Thai & Europian food. The freshwater prawns were all the rage last time I was in Thailand. When we had large family get togethers, they'd always break out the freshwater grilled prawns. It was like their version of the American steak cookout party.

Ahh that makes sense 😁. I actually didn’t eat raw until 7 years ago. So I totally get it, my stomach didn’t like it when I went straight up raw. Had to build my tolerance I guess. Took baby steps starting with Poke, Hand Rolls then finally moved onto all raw. If you’re interested, you can try my strategy 😅

You can make the crabs really easy, just garlic, lime, fish sauce, sugar and of course chilly(the garlic and chilly needs to be pounded in a mortar first) I usually add msg to it but salt should be a decent sup for it. This is not the exact recipe for the one you had but this is what my mother taught me, the sauce is just an all round for seafoods in thailand. Wish you have more good foods in thailand!

There are two kind of crabs for those marinated crab. One is mud crab which is the one you had. More creamy and more expensive. Another one is Blue swimmer crab. Less creamy and less egg but the the meat is more sweet. Those crab meat on your fried rice are from Blue swimmer crab. Next time please try marinated blue swimmer crab. They are also really good.

I recommand you go to temple to survey what people do in this day. I recommand you go to dhammongkol temple. Big temple near bunnavithi ปุณวิถี station of bts way. I went there 2 days ago to make a merit. there is a bone of Buddha in hight building.if you go there you should go before 3 pm because the high buildind will be closed.there is a motercycle to take you to temple for 15 bath a person.

@@ChovyTravel surely, if you can eat raw seafood, which I personally wouldn’t try (yes, I’m a p***y), you would be able to try the durian. Although other people abhor the smell of durian. I personally don’t find it offensive, but rather just aromatic. There is a reason for the recent phenomenon of the Chinese craze for durian…. Because durian actually tastes good, at least it does to me.

Forgot to comment on your trip to EmSphere. So, I comment here. On the top floor of EmSphere, there's a roof top bar. You must ask at the information desk, how to go up. I think that, you used the wrong elevator. So, it's locked and couldn't access to the top floor. Or maybe the bar wasn't opened at the moment you wanted to go, and the elevator locked automatically.

It was really delicious 🤤 I’m not a huge fan of the Korean one myself. However, Caroline loves it. Depends on preference 🤷. Korean one is Soy Sauce based.

Raw seafood might not for everyone especially for a weak stomach or a chicken person like me. I tried raw crab once but it was not my type.

Of Course! I totally get it, I didn’t start eating raw until 7 Years ago. Before, I was always curious of why people eat raw food because it wasn’t for me either. I took baby steps and started with Marinated Poke, then HandRolls and then full on Raw by itself. I actually don’t eat raw crab either but something about the marinade here in Thailand tasted really good 🤷. All in all, you’re absolutely right, it’s definitely not for everyone.
