As far as I have heard the person who directed the movie is actually a marine biology enthusiast. That's why there are so many actual facts built into the movie

Hey just want to point out that there are species of river otters especially Asian small clawed otters which spend a large amount of time on land (though they do live in the rivers)

That is true. They have a bit of a different lifestyle than sea otters.

Hi Maria☺!!!!!!!! Same!!! I also like finding nemo alot more. It's what started my passion for marine life!!!😄. Otters are so cute especially when they use their belly's as tables to crush clams. And I had no idea that octopuses had nine hearts!! Question: can octopus ink be toxic? Great video!!!!!❤

Erica Lesolame Hi Erica! I believe that most ink is not poisonous, however I cannot guarantee there aren’t exceptions. I do know that there are a lot of dishes done with ink. Thank you for your lovely comment as always ❤️

Just a quick correction: They have three hearts, one brain (in a conventional sense), and eight unconventional brain-like neural organs which manages their legs' movements

Octopus ink is not harmful in the wild, but in an enclosed aquarium, it can be deadly. It can coat their gills and slowly suffocate them to death. Aquariums with octopus need heavy filtration in case this happens. Would not recommend keeping them in general as they need a lot of stimulation and, as shown, are escape artists. They are certainly not for casual hobbyists.

04:20 - I heard that if either octopuses or (maybe and? idk ) squids don't escape their ink in time, they might die... is that true?

I didn’t know octopi had blue blood! I always assumed they either didn’t have blood or their blood was ink.

yep! humans dont have those and this is why we can get those motion glitches when you try to do different types of repetitive motions with different limbs (try circle one hand around the navel and lightly slap the top of your head with another, see what happens) cortex responsible for movement just cant handle two different commands at once and glitches out and this is why octopuses are superior to humans

As a heads up, saltwater fish keepers may do "freshwater" dips for periods of up to 5 minutes without negative impact on some saltwater fish (clownfish being one of them). As a critical note, the intention is not that they stay in the freshwater dip but for short bursts, does not seem to harm the fish.
@freakygoblin3068
@freakygoblin3068 3 жыл бұрын
It may however cause stress which in itself can be dangerous, especially when a fish is already weakened. The main purpose of it is to try to kill any parasites such as marine ich (Cryptocaryon). As with most things involving a living animal, people should perform extensive research before attempting.
@BPinney
@BPinney 3 жыл бұрын
@@freakygoblin3068 I see that you completely missed the point. Does it cause stress? Sure, so does being put in a glass box. Does it stress clownfish to the point of death for a short time? Definitively no.
@freakygoblin3068
@freakygoblin3068 3 жыл бұрын
@@BPinney You are missing the point. Stress can tip the balance. It's why you acclimate fish going into tanks. Yes, freshwater dips can be a useful tool. Not something to recommend without people doing research and ignoring the potential risks. For example, a common ph is essential as this is more of a stress factor than the actual salinity.
@BPinney
@BPinney 3 жыл бұрын
@@freakygoblin3068 I'm not recommending the practice. The video comments on how that would be bad for the fish. Except it's done very frequently on clownfish for the length of time in the movie without negative outcomes being common...

Logically, Hank and Bailey couldn't coexist with Dory and friends at the Great Barrier Reef, since they eat fish to sustain themselves. Hank would be no less of a terrifying presence on the reef than the barracuda from the first film. And a beluga is meant to inhabit Arctic waters.
@Thulgore

I had a very bizarre dream one night in which I was dead but Beluga whales were the connection between the souls not living and the souls that were. (which were interchangeable) I can't explain the dream.........but for me, belugas are sacred. It's rare to remember dreams for so long. That one hit me like a ton of bricks when I woke up. I literally can't forget that dream. The feeling disapated, the intent is still rock solid. There was much more and I can't remember that. Which sucks. Edit: I just know that what I can't remember was important / and could be easily conveyed to others. The best I can imagine was that belugas were here and there. They were. I have a similar issue with Ravens though that's not due to dreams. I swear those fuckers know us better than we know ourselves. I live around ravens though. I've never truly seen the ocean and I've never seen a beluga in my life. (that weirds me out moreso.........they have no interaction with my life at all) (or so I think, from my perspective)

9:50 you talk about how fish can't just change from water source to water source & survive. I was curious about ambulatory fish? What allows them to change sources (remember documentary about mudskippers in Gambia) where they even lay dormant until high tide or rain?
