GENIUS tiny detail in this film: when Fiona's dad is waiting at the bar, a female frog asks him "do I know you?" That is some genuinely amazing foreshadowing!

What makes it so great is that the first assumption for the viewer is that the frog is recognizing the face of the king, and not that this frog knew him as a frog. I definitely didn’t pick up on that the first time watching.

The "Holding Out for a Hero" scene from this is arguably the greatest scene in animated movie history. The only real competition it has is the "What's Up Danger" scene from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Up there with the likes of The Empire Strikes Back, Aliens and The Dark Knight as a sequel that's not only great, but arguably better than the original. It's outrageously funny, it develops the characters and themes in a really emotional fashion, it boasts one hell of a killer soundtrack, and to top it all off it has one of the best climactic third acts in all of cinema. Absolutely fantastic film, legitimately one of the best animated films of all time
