Air Force "Combat Airman" career feild is all Special Operations. PJ's, CCT's, TACP's, SOWT's, tho guys do see action. They get attached to actual combat units. PJ's are basically high speed medics, they are some bad mofo's but they are not out there to take lives. They are out there to save lives even if it means killing other people in the process. It's a demanding career field with very versatile group of guys who can take the role of a medic to a door kicking killing machine. I've tried out for PJ's and it's not for everyone. Hopefully I'll get another shot at it again soon.

I think it's because they know if I do, there's always the possibility of losing me.
@chriswhit18cw10 жыл бұрын
Vincent Quinteros haha
@AndroidsLab10 жыл бұрын
First off, you should mention to your mom that every branch of the military gets paid the same amount. In the military, you get paid based on rank and a couple other variables like if you're in a war zone or if you're separated from your spouse. But for the most part, and E-1 in the Marines is going to get as much as an E-1 in the Air Force. I'm enlisted in the Marine Corps and I leave for boot camp next July, but the way I see it is that the Marines are the best of the best, that's why they're "the few. the proud." The only thing I can think of that would make you want to join the Army over the Marines is that in the Army, you can get your job guaranteed to you in your contract.But when it comes down to it, would you rather be a soldier or a MARINE? OOOOOOO MUTHAFUCKIN RAAAAHHH
@danielmegibben165910 жыл бұрын
Hey possible Devil pup. First off remember your family, tradition is at the heart of the Corps. That said it is true the USMC is underpaid all ranks are paid according to rank and time in service but the USMC has higher cuttings scores for promotions and do not get the specialist promotions given to the army (dunno about other branches). The Marine Corps is not about pay its about the honor of being a Marine. Marines are one rank below soldiers of the same billet for example an E4 Marine is supposed to be a teamleader vs an E5 Soldier being a teamleader. Join Marines to be the best of the best, join other branches for pay or benefits. - Battle of Marjah/ Sangin Veteran

You can lose your life in all the branches except coast guard. Even then, you can still lose it. Why should they care what branch you want to join?

AF SF aren't all bad. I know what you mean about the whole "blue beret" thing, but look, some where attached to ASOS as dog handlers, some real tier 1 stuff. I saw one guy had is ranger tab, but even he was a pararescue washout. And in the end, they do have their own Countersniper school, & have had airmen die in the line of duty. So, no real reason to look down on them, except for 90% of them are idiots.
@jonathandebona89349 жыл бұрын
his point about pararescue is they rarely ever get missions, not that they suck at their job. and ranger school doesnt make you a ranger, its just a school not a selection for a unit.

Why do the Air Force Special Forces always get left out or picked on. They have more types of special forces there than any other branch. This is the list I can think of there is Combat Controllers (who often can get detached to the Army Rangers, 1st Operational Detachment Force Delta aka Delta Force, Navy SEALs, Marines Force Recon,etc), AF Special Tactics, AF Foward Air Controller (although very similar to the Combat Controllers), and Pararescue. It's sad that most people don't know how awsome Air Force Special Ops are. Chances are if anywhere is being invaded by the air such as mass paradrops at least one spec ops operator is Air Force. Please before you comment read up on the Air Force. Yes Security Forces do brag alot, but please don't think Air Force Expeditionary is the same though.

CE's I saw (Army and Marines) just ran to cover while we engaged the enemy during ambushes. They had plenty of toys (trucks with CROWS systems even), but were hesitant to move once shooting started. Most wouldn't even scan with their thermals for targets (didn't want to move their truck and risk being exposed), and let us go in on foot to flush the enemy out. Some can hold their own, but most were fairly unimpressive. Either way, they're still POGs. Just POGs with bombs.
