Saw a great article of a woman either in a British unit or Australian unit that ended up being in combat with a unit of a bunch of guys and when someone commented asking her what she did when they get ambushed was "oh haha I just laid down and let the guys take care of it" or something to that nature. Yuck.

@dominichadley53187 жыл бұрын
I think its been like that for awhile, especially back in the 1980s, even though females weren't allowed into any of the 03 fields back then, but it was still low. Like for example: back in 1983 Male Marines PT Standards for 17-26 years of age was required minimum for 3d class of a score of 135, 3 pullups, 28 situps, and 3-Mile run in 28 minutes opposed to Female Marines PT Standards 17-26 years of age required minimum for 3d class of a total score of 100, Flexed Arm Hang 16 seconds, Situps (Repetitions) 22, and 1 1/2-Mile Run in 15 minutes. But, this was 34 something years ago, now it might've fluctuated over time. I don't know the requirements now for females going into the Marines or any other branch of service, even though I want to enlist into the Marine Corps and I don't like that idea of having women getting easier PT standards especially 03 fields, but you do have point there futurejarhead1, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did since they want it easier to get in for their damn college or signing benefits for the army or for any other branch of service aside for the Marines since they don't preach that shit and hand it out like candy, at least for what I've seen and heard.

As a former grunt, this is a touchy subject. Do you really want women to be in a combat zone? It is an ugly, dirty, hygiene-negligent environment. Imagine the worst possible environment hygienically and emotionally that you can picture, and that is what a combat zone is. Women just are just plain just not made for a combat environment. It is an evolutionary concept. Men go to war, women stay home. Look at any rudimentary and basic tribe and community in the world, very few women are able to handle the stresses of combat. Never mind the possibility of accidental pregnancies or sexual problems that can also arise, emotionally, women just shouldn't be a part of a violent occupation. While they may be able to carry the same weight and pull the trigger just as well as men in some instances, it just isn't conducive to a healthy individual on the back end of a deployment. The effects on a woman in a true combat lifestyle are much greater than that on a man, who can better define the off switch that is necessary for such an environment. While women want equality, what happens on a deployment is much uglier than the majority are really ready to face and deal with on a daily basis. The infantry is an ugly, violent, and dirty occupation, and should be left to the more violent of the species, men. Also, women who are injured in combat create much more logistical and emotional ripples than do men, it is an unequal comparison. War should remain ugly, lest we grow too fond of it

The reason why Isreal does that is because they are surrounded by countries that are hostile to them on all borders. Every single Israeli man and woman is combat trained because of their fucked-up situation. We should be thankful we don't have to spend our taxpayer dollars on female combat units, because the women and children (and most of the fucking men) in the USA are safe, and dont have to be constantly on the alert, like the Israeli people do.

i think instead of just females picking infantry like a male would they should go through a serious of tests(including physical not paper tests) to see if they can handle it. select females may be able to handle it some will not which is why i think it should be more of a screening process, then the Marine Corps decides whether you can actually continue on or pick a different mos and if and when the country freaks out or it doesnt work out they take it back and have proof for when the next woman wants to join "see we tried it didnt work out tough shit"
@tbr210911 жыл бұрын
The problem with that is you can't "test" whether someone can handle war. The only way to know that is to actually be in one.
@sobored12611 жыл бұрын
i know you can't test it, but i meant attempt to make it as close as possible. of course nothing compares to being there whether youre male or female but it can help weed out the weaker ones

SpicyTaco You're right up to a point, but simulated stress even with the most extreme sleep deprivation still doesn't fully measure up to the real thing. It's a good deal easier to cope with stressful situations when you know, in the back of your mind, that it's just an exercise and it's unlikely that any real harm will come to you or anyone you give a shit about.
@sobored12610 жыл бұрын
tbr2109 Nothing can compare to actually being in war, but they can use a more selective screening process when choosing females to go into infantry than the males have if need be so they can at least try. If they fail they fail, not everyone is cut out for infantry, male or female.

This is exactly spot on. There is no good out of women being in combat. Women, do intelligence, be doctors, patch things up...these are very important tasks. I don't understand the constant drive to make women feel superior or equal to what men can do. Women can be in non combat roles and still be very important. Heck, a lot of intelligence jobs, medical roles, and what not with women in those fields are some times more important than combat roles. Without these roles with A LOT of women in charge guys wouldn't be able to kick butt and take names

How about when they are captured? And if they get raped? I really don't want that to happen. I think we need to be more advanced in other Women rights first. Dude I loved hearing what you had to say on this issue. It gets my blood boiling just thinking about it. Like I said on a previous video of yours (not that you saw with all the comments you get) I was grunt who went to Afghan with 3/6 so I know exactly what you are talking about when it comes to the practical application of women in the infantry. Our FET team we had with us for a little bit, who as you know are supposed to be like the best females the Corps can offer right now, not only had to have their slack picked up by the rest of the entire company (whoever they were pushed out to at the time), but they even started crying when we would have to shoot dogs who tried to attack us while we were on patrol. Thankfully they weren't out long enough to get involved in a firefight. We even had to send one of our mobilized infantry units (I think it was our company MAP) to pick them up during a freaking patrol because they couldn't go any further, thus leaving their gear for all the other guys on the patrol to carry back to the PB AND endangering the lives of the MAP platoon by having them drive on those crap, soft-sand roads that were laden with IEDs. It's just ridiculous. I guess the biggest question that I have is have we really gotten this comfortable with ourselves and our military might that we are good enough to allow women to fight in the infantry and succeed nevertheless? Like you said, and it's pathetic we have to state this nowadays but that's the way it is or the media will crucify you, I am all for equality and women's rights and all that jazz, but war is war. War is unforgiving and indiscriminatory. It will not care who it kills, rapes, or destroys. It has not been fought exclusively by men for thousands of years for no reason. Anyways, didn't mean to blow up your comments man. Thanks for the video and keep embracing the suck.

Don't think of devil dog as being sexist here. Although he can say things that sound a bit demeaning, you need to understand his words ring true. First of all, as a male and you see a opposing force coming to wage war with you and you see a women, what do you think? That's on a serious note. Even if that women could kill me without hesitation, I would not be nervous about a women amongst a group of males. It's just the the truth. Also, prisoners of war are a very real thing, there's something about a male dying for his country. There's a certain pride behind it, but a women? It just seems like they're trying to prove a point. Like, I can die foolishly now because I live in America and where were fighting for equal rights, so I have the right to get the worst torture possible. (Think of the women solider being held captive, and she's raped end has a kid every nine months and then when the baby's born, they kill the baby and repeat for the rest of their life...) like, this causes so many more problems all for what??? To prove that women can do anything men can do? Please, women are becoming so obsessed with being better than men when they already won the race fuckin 40 years ago and now they're just trying to do everything there way. It's not equal rights, women are trying to +1 themselves over men in every direction. Since the beginning of time, men have been on the frontline and they're trying to protect there loved one from harm, but now were bringing what were protecting to the front lines. We might as well bring children too and train them at a young age. Women have a place in the military, surely. But trying to make women some super badass video game combat Character just to prove a point to men and all countries across the world... This is just stupid and I can't believe I'm still talking. Women have different talents than men, visa verse. WHY ARE WE TRYING TO FUCK WITH THESE THINGS. It isn't sexist, it's the truth. Women are so power hungry, they don't know when to stop.... Do you see a future problem with such attributes? A women president that wants all women in other countries to be free? Think about what men are bred to do and stop trying to throw women into the mix.

The other girl would when she became tired and bored, would begin to moan and plead to have a CASI VAC come and pick her up because she had 'heat stroke' when you could see she didn't want to participate anymore. This was a pain as for everyone as we made a lot of radio traffic and held us up and we requested and waited for evac. I'm sorry, but your comment was so filled nazi sexism that it just gave me brain cancer. It was so stupid and meat headed that I'm surprised Michael Bay didn't ask you to be his new writer. Clearly, you deserve the medal of dishonor given to you by John Cena himself, while at the same getting showered in mountin dew. GET SOME ACTUAL COMMON SENSE. REAL men, at least in the year 2015, DONT GIVE A SHIT if another sub group of the same fucking species helps them in combat. If anything, and I'm probably going to be labeled as a terrorist for this war crime of a statement, if this is how the "highest branch of dignity," get this, IS BAD AT TEACHING?!:0 Seriously though, are you from the fucking 1950s?

MrNeumie dont you see that were not trying to do this to deny women combat out of spite, or jealousy, but the guy who made this video was a marine, he knows all of the fucked up shit that goes on inside a male barracks pretty much 24/7.

I think your generalizing a lot. a whole gender.
@JacobpoppaWoody9 жыл бұрын
This is something that you can generalize. If only a small subset of a large group can perform a task that is already well served, then what's the point of opening it up to a physically weaker alternative? There is no point.
@zachA509 жыл бұрын
The Daily Mind Fart In my personal opinion it if they can pass the current standards they should be accepted and be stationed separately. Lowering the standards to seem "equal" is dumb.

What's the point of spending all the money to maintain new equipment and housing for them though if we only get say, 100 more infantryman?
@zachA509 жыл бұрын
The Daily Mind Fart Infantryman? there are a lot more that 100 women that would go infantry. I think SF would be a logistical nightmare however.
@JacobpoppaWoody9 жыл бұрын
I can almost guarantee that no woman will make it through a SOCOM indoc. That, however, is another argument. So far, no woman has made it through IOC or SOI. They have had these courses open for two years to the absolute best, hand picked, female candidates, and none of them have passed. Same with Ranger School. It just has merit as a program, because it is literally throwing money down the drain and making those women take unnecessary detours on what might otherwise be a successful career.
@joshuasantos73059 жыл бұрын
2 ladies just passed into the Army Rangers, you were right about their gear though. Pictures showed a few guys carrying double the gear while they ran with nothing.
@j.m.90338 жыл бұрын
+Joshua Santos They only passed Ranger School, so they are not Rangers. To become a Ranger a soldier must pass the Ranger Assesment and Selection Program (RASP) and be in the 75th Ranger Regiment. They women who now have Ranger tabs will just go back to whatever POG job they had before. (You can tell a Ranger by the 75 Ranger scroll on their sleeve)

What do you think about women in the Marine Corps in general? Aside from being in infantry.
@dummkopf17810 жыл бұрын
Your views are very classic, and influenced by beliefs of others and society as a whole. If you can't think abstractly about these problems, how they could be, rather than how they evidently are, then you shouldn't be weighing in on the problem. Don't sweat it, not everyone can think abstractly, most people only do concretely. I get your point about not changing things that aren't broken, but that doesn't mean things can't be better with change.

@Lt_Voss11 жыл бұрын
This isn't a movie. Simply reminding someone of what they're fighting for doesn't work 99 percent of the time. Our gunner froze up once when an RPG hit about 4cm from my viewport (Abrams driver). We repeatedly shouted at him, I reached over and slapped him in the back of the head... it took our commander to shout "fire" over the intra-vehicle channel for his training to take over and he immediately fired. It missed, but it got him out of the trance.

All of the military standards for men are considerably lower for women, for example, men have to do 35 push ups to pass their fitness test in the army, and women only do 13
@jacksont94559 жыл бұрын
Exactly! They should even out the basic standards before they even consider putting females in infantry. If a woman can't do the same basic training as a man, how the fuck is she supposed to meet any infantry standards?
@PhDPlague11 жыл бұрын
A huge problem I have - This thought came from my cousin in the military - Men have had chivalry ingrained in them from a very young age. Training says leave the wounded and keep on, problem is when a woman goes down, it's not just another soldier. You see a wife, a daughter, a niece, a sister. And even half a second distraction can cost you your life. Men and women have always had different roles in society. All for equal pay in jobs, etc. but role diversity exists and always have.

My sister is currently in the Navy, she was telling us about the mental training they had to go through. She told us they would make you watch a GRAPHIC movie of the people jumping off of the trade center during 9/11. She said that 90% of the girls came out crying while the guys walked out like it was another day. This was the NAVY, they don't do half the shit the army and marines do as infantry. Picture how woman would take a really life firefight with men getting blown up left and right fi they can't handle 9/11 videos... 'Nuff said

In a fire fight adrenaline and instinctive training is what gets you moving, you don't get that in a video, but I see your point.

When I was in the Air Force, we were issued non-operational M-16's during basic so we can practice taking them apart and marching with them. One female trainee had a problem with it because she "didn't like guns". Us males had a good laugh at that, their female TI must've felt really awkward.

Even now a days there are only around 200 or so women in the marines, around 150 are active duty and the rest are in reserves. And I can guarantee you less than a quarter of them are in admin position.

Devil, I dig the hell out of your videos. I respect you and your buddies. It's a ton of fun to watch you guys game together. I see a lot of your points here. My only concern is that there's always the possibility of something unexpected happening after everything you predict comes true. after all the media shit flinging, all the hazing and physical/sexual abuse, etc., you think there's no chance of the smoke clearing and something good happening? doyou think there's any chance that you're wrong?

I served a full year in Finnish military and got out from there as a corporal. Women can nowadays do that too, and I've heard many stories about how women behave just like you told in the video and I have the same thoughts about the subject as you. I'm glad though they don't take women in the combat engineers where I was or in other fighting forces unlike now in the USMC as you told.

You forgot to mention their periods. I have never been in the military but from my understanding, you guys go out on long patrols with 100+ pounds of gear in 100+ degree weather for 12 hours. Then you add in period symptoms in with that, that person is at an even more disadvantage.

You raise some good points, dude. You really do. I'm curious--but not enough to google-- how does Israel handle their women? Everyone is required to serve over there and they have women. Idk about combat MOS or if they are kept outta the frontline or what, but they do it. USA might do well to take some notes. Second, all female units have historically performed very well. Look into the Russian 588th Night Bomber regiment. I know AF != boots but, what r ur thoughts on an all Fem unit?

There's a type of brotherhood in being a soldier. It's been that way since conflict has existed. A regiment knows each other as men and soldiers. It's just a thing they have. If a woman wants to come and join a regiment it completely changes the bond of that regiment
