Marine Corps Recruiting

Күн бұрын

The Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test, or PFT, evaluates stamina and physical conditioning. It includes 3 parts: pull-ups or push-ups, plank pose, and a 3-mile timed run. Note that as of 2023, crunches were replaced with the plank as the mandatory abdominal strength evaluation for the PFT.
Pull-ups and push-ups are essential to building the upper body strength necessary to win battles.
Planks are critical to maintaining a strong core and being battle-ready at a moment’s notice.
Males must complete the three-mile run in 28 minutes or less. Females must complete the three-mile run in 31 minutes or less.

About the United States Marine Corps:
The Marine Corps defends the people of the United States at home and abroad. Within every Marine is the willingness to engage and determination to defeat any adversary, and it is this fighting spirit that allows us to fight and win our Nation’s battles.
The mission of the United States Marine Corps is made up of three promises: We make Marines, we win our Nation’s battles, and we develop quality citizens prepared to fight and win battles.
You don’t join the Marines-you become one, forged in the crucible of training aboard our recruit depots on Parris Island, South Carolina, and in San Diego, California, or through the dedication required of officer candidates at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. Beyond the physical requirements, aspiring Marines must prove they have the honor, courage, and commitment to face and defeat any obstacle.
Today, more than 180,000 enlisted Marines and 23,000 Marine Officers serve in active duty or reserve forces on bases and in communities around the world, proudly carrying with them the core values of the Marine Corps.

@@JoseRamirez-ft4mn sadly no, I was a week from going to MEPS and getting all that rolling, I had been talking with a recruiter, working out every like 3 days (or more often when time allowed) and all that stuff, but suffice to say I wasn’t gonna work for who got elected on the 20th (if others wanted to then they are more than free to do so, not bashing just a difference of opinion), so I’ve ended up pursuing the route of a EMT and I’ve gotten my NREMT and been working, also I had a long time family pet get sick so I’ve been taking care of him, I really wish I could have enlisted as I had been preparing for it for a long time and not being able to really sucked for a good while (and still is) but it just didn’t seem that it was to be and as I’m already almost 23 it would be difficult to join in 4 years and even more so in 8 if it goes that way, I will continue to support The Marine Corps and the Military in general in anyway I can from the civilian side but it didn’t seem that I was supposed to enlist at least not yet, we will see what the future holds I suppose

I can't remember exactly what the minimum was in 1969 but our final fitness was to do 10 pullups or more, as many sit ups, squat thrusts, as many pushups, 50 foot rope climb, 3 mile run under 30 minutes. Maybe someone here has a better memory of the final fitness test. Semper Fi.

Getting a max score for both PFT and CFT is no easy task. Obviously if you’re aiming for minimum or average and first class, it’s going to be quite a breeze but aiming for a max 300 for both event will take months of preparation. Everyone is different and has their weakness. Although, just because you can get a max score on these events doesn’t mean you can perform super well in the fleet, having a max score only gives you a potential idea that you may qualify for recon/MARSOC contracts. Good on you if you think you can pull through these events at maximum, 3/5 Kilo, infantry Marine here.

@MOG0311
@MOG0311 5 ай бұрын
There are a few Females in who are monsters and they can hang. But yes, the majority of Female Marines aren't even in the same universe as the Male Marines. If they held the Women to the same standards as the men, the Corps would literally have a recruitment crisis and there would be an insane amount of empty jobs. I don't have an issue with their standards as I understand the genetics, they are not as strong and as fast as us. But the problem comes when they start trying to get into combat roles like Infantry. That's when you need to be able to do what we can do physically. Very few can. If I get shot and need to be carried or drag. Your ass better be able to do it as fast as anyone of us would be able to otherwise you are now a liability and will get the rest of us killed.

@@MOG0311 I doubt as a matter a fact I guarantee there is not a single female on the planet that belongs in any special operations of any branch of the military because none of them can pass the course they can't even pass the basic physical entrance exam with the current standards for males so no they have no business being in, this country has become disgustingly weak and no longer has standards the test for special operations is what it is because they are " special the best of the best" there is a standard whether you are male or female pass the same test and your in if not your out simple.
