Barrett MRAD in .300 Win Mag / .308 barrel The Mk248 Mod 1 220 grain Sierra. H-1000 powder / REM brass. The MRAD you can change the barrel to whatever caliber the mission warrants Shooting everyday with both and got my DOPE in all weather. Just a retired Marine and my 2 cents

the ballistic calculators are nice, but nothing replaces DOPE.

They only want to shoot 10 rounds because the barrels only have a 5k round lifespan, compared to 40k for .308. God love and bless the wildcatters, have given us some great stuff, but everything is a compromise. .308 became a standard because it ticks more boxes.

A 300 Winchester Magnum barrel on a target/sniper rifle has a 1,500 to 2,000 round life, depending on rate of twist. The 308 Winchester's barrel life is in the 7,500 to 10,000 round range.

Math problem...? I hate math. Yet somehow I got stuck in the FDC sitting in the back of a tarp topped Humvee with a can of cottonballs in rubbing alcohol keeping us ""warm"". while reading charts & wheels & or relaying coordinates. Either that Or I was digging 81mm pits & holes. Idk I guess that's going to happen if a E1 is super moto, keen, witty,dangerous willing to disagree & it's not so much that my filter was bad but rather I'm Longwinded & or I didnt know when tin shut up. Sucked because id rather be in the rain then confined with E4. Amyhow good to go. STAY FROSTY cause Russia is docking ships on cuba... IMO much much worse than 62/63 because that was a lot of diplomacy or fsim diplomacy & moving chess around the board. Whereas 2024 NATOs swarming & US missiles striking Russia proper.
