I was minding my own business in the study hall when a couple of white boys decided they would pick on me (nothing physical but making racial remarks and spouting a few slurs). I don’t know where they came from but out of nowhere came 3 fellow students who were part of the ROTC program on campus. They were in uniform and one of them told them to “shut the F up, or they’d be answerable to them”. I didn’t know these ROTC guys, but they stood up for what they felt was right. That’s some training. No man left behind, I think their motto was.

This week, a Belgian plane came back from Kabul with zero passengers because the Belgians they wanted to return home were unable to get to the airport. You read that right, 0 passengers. In Germany there was outrage over a plane that brought back 7 people. Why our countries aren’t helping eachother and bringing back Americans or Afghans who helped the US or NATO, is beyond me.
