"..and young morons dying". There, fixed it for you. Because you have to be a moron, to fall for any politician´s snake oil. The only war worth fighting is to defend your home and family. If you have to travel thousands of miles to fight, you are already doing it wrong. There´s a reason why the US Armed Forces are experiencing record numbers of suicides. When you find yourself in the wrong side of morality and goodness, the soul begins to die. That´s the reason many choose to eat a bullet. Because they know, deep down, that they are fighting the wrong war, and have innocent blood on their hands. Do not volunteer to fight for those sniveling murderous politicians, no matter their political color. They are the same shit.

The Taliban always had sympathizers/members within the Afghan government and armed forces. So, a Taliban take over was assured once America left. The only question was how quickly it would happen.
@Valyssi
@Valyssi 2 жыл бұрын
It didn't even need sympathisers, mere apathy was enough. The Afghan army knew it had more to fear from the Taliban if they resisted, than it would have to fear from its own government if it deserted (after all, the Afghan government and a lot of generals fled the country). Any convictions they might have held aside, the only logical thing for them to do in that situation was surrender and ensure their own safety. America either greatly underestimated the importance of morale in war (which I doubt since they have plenty of experience with war) or straight up didn't care

When they say that billions of dollars was spent on military equipment, it would be interesting to see what it was spent on and where it went. No... the Taliban did not seize that many aircraft. Yes a few aircraft were left by fleeing Afghan forces. The vast majority of airworthy craft were flown out with much of the older equipment the Afghan Security forces had. Yes it is also true some Afghan Security forces defected and handed over the aircraft and the equipment they were supposed to fly out. However we've remotely disabled these craft and some equipment. Sure, they'll figure out how to bypass some of our disabling measures. But you're grossly over exaggerating the situation. As for the billions in military supplies and equipment. Much of it was over valued hand-me-downs. Additionally there is a lot of corruption we had to deal with and to some extent allow for fear of losing the few ranking memebers of the Afghan Security forces. Yes! It was a struggle just to find a few competent men to hold high ranking positions. Many were corrupt but all we had to work with. There came a point in 2011 when we could no longer choose to weed out the bad ones if we were to ever leave. Remember, we did this. We overthrew the Taliban government. We had to at least give the appearance of a functioning Afghan Security force in order to leave. Few men signed on to join the force. At which point we began accepting "former" Taliban members. Desertion and drug use among the Afghan Security forces was rampant. They simply couldn't rise up to the level required to secure the country. We tried for almost eight year to play a supporting role. So when they appeared at to look organized and capable we took off. In reality we needed to stay on with a skeletal crew to feed intelligence and advise like we continue to do in many countries across the world. The Afghan Security forces simply lacked organization, professionalism, and integrity. Few were willing to listen or learn how to be soldiers. They would played solider, particularly for news cameras... but in reality most smoked pot, others used heroine, and refused to take the job seriously. The vast majority thought our being there would be indefinite. When we did leave desertion, disarray, plundering of equipment and supplies, and tanking morale soared. It was too late for us to stop. We were already speeding down the runway.

They came back to Afghanistan for power and wealth and most of them were funded by Taliban's opium money 💰.. They are completely changing their nationalities and religion. Most surprising they use Indian passport and their name is similar to Hindus. None has any Muslim name. So, American and British Universities should think and check twice before giving admission to an Indian Hindu student.🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🤬 My friend did his PhD in Foreign service at Georgetown university and he told me first about this facts. He had a Indian🇮🇳 Hindu friend named Ram Prakash who was also a PhD student there but later he got to know his real identity but he didn't tell it to anyone for his security concerns. It's becoming more difficult day by day to recognize them so Indian student numbers should be reduced in order to stop Taliban.

You should know the story of what one simple Japanese doctor did in Afghanistan without any weapon, or dead, Nakamura was known for dedicating his life to helping the Afghan people, especially for his work in developing an irrigation system and improving agriculture in eastern Afghanistan. He reconstructed and help Afghanistan people with new skills, education and learn themselves. On the other hand 20 years of America and western military forces failure so bad that everyone can see it.. unfortunately Dr Tetsu Nakamura died… before his death.. “His car was being followed by a security vehicle carrying four people including local staff of the NGO” … “The doctor said such bullets are uncommon in the country”.. who killed him was not a person from Afghanistan by from NATO

Britain is far away from Afghanistan, yet has tried to shape that country for almost 200 years, same with Russia and the US has been very active in Afghanistan from late 1970s (with withdrawal in 1990s) up to the present moment. Three foreign imperialist powers competing to control Afghanistan and this dolt says the indigene is the problem. What a complete joke.

Why? Bcs they are falsefully blamed of 9/11. A lie which was backed by 0 evidence. Or because u think women can not go to school? If the first is your point, then kindly provide your evidence, if women is the issue, then I would agree with u but just for a while. Cs their decision on banning women from schools is not a final decision, there is yet another final decision to come. Me personally, I hope they open the schools for women as well. Looking forward

Looks to me like the USA did what they planned to do. Take out Osama and train Afghanistan to be a better Afghanistan. Who is to blame if the Afghanistan troops preferred taking drugs during training instead of paying attention. We did not lose. Afghanistan lost to Afghanistan.

@itsourlife 2 жыл бұрын
@@julesybethmedlini That's very simplistic. This is intelligence failure not only on part of USA but every other country in the world. Without existing situation it's impossible for a 9 day literally bloodless takeover. 20 years and they don't even know what's going on? Shameful. Shows downfall of the west if it could not judge.
@julesybethmedlini
@julesybethmedlini 2 жыл бұрын
@@itsourlife sometimes the simplest thing is the truth. 20 years and billions spent. We did more than our part. Easy to blame the entire world, but where does this get us? Have you not seen, we more than knew what was going on. Biden was advised. He chose to believe in the Afghan troops. What happens after a country is left on its own is up to said country. Obviously we have two sides to the political culture here. I am neither. I believe in views of both. Democrats aren’t usually that in favor of money spent on military overseas. However if push comes to shove; unfortunately we will return. Trump was in favor of the withdrawal as well; but he probably would have started the war that ends all wars if you even think about rubbing him the wrong way. Very easy for us to debate this topic but what else is the answer? I don’t have it. Our other alternative which is impossible is Trump and his plan- Now if Biden administered Trumps plan- with conditions. Would the Taliban have listened? Who knows, I happen to believe they would not have listened. If Trump was the President - would they have listened. ? I bet to an extent they would have but secretly plotting otherwise. Which just prolongs the inevitable.
@itsourlife
@itsourlife 2 жыл бұрын
@@julesybethmedlini Look I am more concerned about the intelligence failure on ground that the two political sides and thier decisions. Trump is not the President so he escaped all the troubles with such tough decisions. Having said that I firmly believe he would have listened to intelligence reports about the situation on the ground. Remember the last minute withdrawal from engagement with Iranians? We all thought this was it. Better sense prevailes or rather he read the intelligence reports right and acted accordingly. Either way I am as shocked today as I was on the morning of 9.11.2001. How does the most powerful country make such mistakes and miscalculate such events. Even the best intelligence report gave 90 days to Taliban where it just took 9. This is not right.

Should they be picking up arms instead of having someone else do everything for them? Shouldn't good journalists be looking into the story of what actually happened on the ground? Shouldn't we hear concrete information about the how and why they just gave up? Isn't that where the real story is?
