@@augustuslunasol10thapostle they didn't specify not to wear a costume but everyone seemed to know not to do that. Ya know social norms and etiquette. Maybe the guy was special and or doesnt go out often so doesn't realize these kind of things. Still...when in doubt ask. Whenever there is a dress code people ask what's ok and what's not ok especially when not sure. His fault he made an oopsy. I don't think the bride was immature for having him removed. I think it was kind of rude of her to do so especially if he had to travel to come to the event but she did what she did probably under emotional duress. It's a very special day and he put a damper on it. As well all can agree since it was her event/special day she could kick out whomever she wanted.
@Splexsychiick3 жыл бұрын
@Based Serb not having anything else to wear isn't a valid excuse. When there is a dress code for an event when in doubt ask for permission or confirmation your outfit is ok. Nothing wrong with doing that. If they really wanted him there they would have told him yes to come like that or tell him to come in jeans /something else. Now an up an above step some people do is buy their beloved guest an outfit to wear. If not just don't show up. The wife kicked him out and the husband allowed it. I can only speculate on their relationship with the man.

Lol what!? How do you see both sides? How was the Marine being "immature." Lol. Sounds like the bride is immature and needs to come down to reality. That's insane. There is no "seeing both sides" to this... in my opinion.
@silence227B4 жыл бұрын
Well I see it this way, I can choose to put the effort to put on my dress blues and risk getting attention or allow the bride to have the 100 percent attention by not putting on my uniform. I wouldn't put my uniform on for anybodys wedding. Its her day, let it be, who gives a f*ck. But yes it was a little immature she kinda shined a bad light on herself.

@@silence227B why should you be worried about drawing any attention to yourself? That's the point I'm trying to make....well that and how could a person be so petty/self-conscious/attention seeking to think that a person in their dress uniform takes the spotlight away from them? Lol. If I were the groom, I would've ran for the hills after witnessing that.
@silence227B4 жыл бұрын
@@rodneygreenwaymusic lol ur right about that, it raises alot of red flags. I would say its more like if I knew the person was petty I would do what I can as to not step on her toes. But at the same time I wouldn't accociate with someone so thin skinned, but now a days it seems its unavoidable so I've some what accepted that I will need to cater to their "needs".

@Splexsychiick3 жыл бұрын
He had no right to be dressed like that. It was a private none military event. A wedding. There was no reason for him to come dressed like that. If the bride wanted him in full uniform they would have said so. I've seen weddings with military friends and family dressed in full uniform. He should have asked if it would have been ok (he didnt). Since it's a private event...a wedding they had every right to kick him out of it for what ever reason they felt was just. Its rude to upstage the bride and groom on their wedding day.

@@augustuslunasol10thapostle I feel like people like you don't often get invited to these sort of social events. I guess it would be the bride and groom fault as well if someone showed up in a bird suit. It's not like they told guest _not_ to wear a bird suit. It's common sense. Social norms, etiquette and all that jazz. Common sense ain't always common I suppose. Not like he was the only marine or military man at the event...yet he was the only one decked out. Yet it doesn't ring off to you that he was the problem. He had no good reason to come dressed like that. None what's so ever. Not having anything else to wear isn't even a good excuse.

I’m not very familiar in the wedding or military scene but why wear your uniform to someone’s wedding in the first place? It just doesn’t seem like appropriate attire for that kind of occasion to me.
@brucetumpalan63993 жыл бұрын
The USMC Dress Blues in function, are for a black tie event in civilian standards. The wedding was a black tie event, so the Marine was not wrong in the technical sense of wearing his uniform. Bride just got real jealous.
@Splexsychiick3 жыл бұрын
@@brucetumpalan6399 ....I disagree. He was wrong in the technical sense and in the 'lets use common sense way'. No one asked him to come in full uniform. No one told him it would be ok. It's a wedding not just some black tie event. Only time it would be ok is if they had told him it's ok to dress in full uniform. Yes the bride was jealous. Etiquette dictates you don't upstage the bride and groom.
