Prior Recon Marine here. Its literally the exact same skill set as both SEALs and Recon. BUT Recon Marines work for the Marine Corps. SEALs and Raiders work for SOCOM.

If anyone knows, I'm wondering what squadron is in the video with the mv-22's ?? I was with vmm-263 mag-26 the 2nd marine expeditionary force and we regularly inserted marsoc. Not necessarily, you just need to join the Marine Corps and serve for a few years before apply for the A&S. Usually most of the raiders come from the recon community, the Recon Battalions will provide to you more training while you still young and starting your career.
