@@boydnicol First off the bat get into physical shape. Number one. Number two is being mentally prepared for the challenges that await you. 20% physical 80% mental. And also contact your local marine recruiter on any further details about being a raider or going special ops. But the wash out rate is pretty high.

guys who want to do marsoc: remember the only reason they go through tough ass training is because its rough ass job for rough ass people. coming out of a cold ass ocean and hugging a rock because its warmer than you type of shit. no call duty shit there enemies play for keeps no respawn. just think about everything before you try out.

***** Good luck man. I'm enlisting in infantry in about 2 years or so hoping to get 0311 rifleman MOS. Then after a few years of that, I'm going for MARSOC. Just train hard before you go into the military and you'll be good. Just don't let yourself slack off. Do you suggest doing the training with recruiters thing before going in?

Everyone wants to be a gangster til it's time to do gangster schitt... If you truly want to be MARSOC and had what it takes I doubt you'd be telling people on KZbin... They're called silent professionals for a reason..Silent professional isn't something they have to learn in their training. It's ingrained in them. To then it's as self-evident as needing to breathe to live... Not knocking you, it's easy to see those type vids, have an adrenaline rush , then feel like John Rambo on steroids... If you really wanna be a Raider, keep quiet, work harder than you've ever worked in your live and then be prepared for Olympic level endurance training, being cold beyond belief, being so sore that you could literally pass out, and for sleep depression that will have you hallucinating...

Grungelife Gl The green berets are officially called Army Special Forces, and the Rangers are more of a Light Infantry Recon group. MARSOC is the USMCs equivalent that is somewhere in the middle, while also being able to work at sea.

not all of them have deployments before joining. unless you're talking about the Raiders who built MARSOC, then yeah because they're all old Force Recon Marines. but today, not so much. hell, when i was at first as a support guy, one of the Raiders that was in my company was a Mailman before he tried out and never deployed.

zfairfan They are not all Ex Recon guys, a lot come from FAST Teams along and although not common guys from Infantry Units. Needless to say MARSOC is extremely exclusive as to who they let in.

Jake Sweeney that only holds true now. when i was there, they were all Recondos being reassigned. and not a lot of them were gunners before making it as a saw a handful of prior POGs come though after being selected and passing ITC. Such as Mailmen and Administrators. its about giving it your all at all times. thats who makes it. shooting is the easy part. ask any one of them.

Shanepatrick Bernardez Marine Corps doesn't have berets unlike the Tan for the 75th and of course the the infamous Green Berets (Special Forces) if we're being technical. Along with others like AFSOC also use Berets to signify a unit like CCT, SOWT, and Pararescue.
