It's just like finding a treasure trove of great Dio songs that were never released before.

Elf was such a great band. Their level of musicianship at the time was off the charts. Very few people even knows who they are. When they got their recording contract in 73 and did 3 albums as elf, imo, was Ronnie's best work. Magical. His range as far as style, from blue's to hard hard rock to almost like cabaret style music. Amazing range. Still my favorite singer of all time. Rest In Peace Ronnie. Hope to see you playing at the Pearly Bar soon

Elf was indeed an excellent band. I have all 3 releases on vinyl. Sometimes people forget about what means when someone says Dio was amazingly skilled as a singer. If he did not sing a song as it was before its because he didn't want, not because he couldn't. This is specially true if you put yourself is his shoes for a minute and think that he wanted the songs of his own period in Sabbath to stand out. It's good to hear him being more faithful to the source material, but I can completely understand why he sounded so different when singing Ozzy's songs while he was in Sabbath.
