Ye its the adrenaline mostly, the time you take to land is probably 2 seconds but it feels like over 8 seconds while you are on the air kinda like a slowmo, you also don't feel real pain from flesh wounds till some hours later, always wear helmet guys.

The suits are some of the most incredible pieces of engineering in high level motorcycle racing. Adrenaline is to blame for that. My knee cap was hanging out my leg. I had a completely smashed ulna and radius on the left side, hand bones shifted directly back onto my arm bones. No wrist left. A fractured collarbone and 2 metacarpals broken on right side. I was stood up trying to pick my wreck of a bike up. Its wasn't until the guy who crashed into me made me sit down and relax that the enormity of the situation hit home. As well as the pain.

Ha, that was nothing when compares with the high-side suffered by Carl Fogarty in the first leg of the Japanese WSB round at Sugo back in 1995. He was in the air for so long he got a pilots licence when he landed!!! Plus he got strapped up and came out and won the second leg just a couple of hours later. A legend.

I highsided an MT09 back in 2014 and only went a few feet in the air. All I can recall from it was moving towards the ground with my arms out superman style. Needless to say I broke both wrists.
