Chase was meant for the 1st phase of the Wario fight, AKA the most well known phase. But most personalized copies, likely due to a glitch in the ai, only play the endless stairs theme.

About 4 years late to this, but fuck it, imma theorize. The first couple are what they are on the tin, but 8JI and 10JI, accounting for their apparent translations, probably have to do with the Internal Clock anomaly. IE The Nintendo 64 or SM64 come with an in-built clock. My assumption is that they’re part of some sort of “Curfew feature.” At 8PM, there would be some sort of Warning accompanied by 8JI, later at 10, 10JI would play along with either another warning or perhaps form of unbeatable, inescapable enemy to scare the intended target (IE, Children who try to stay up all night to play Bing Pow Wahoo game) to bed. Such a feature would likely be scrapped due to it potentially traumatizing children to the point they don’t play the game again and, more importantly, tell those around them about their encounter, including their parents, who would presumably put Nintendo in a world of legal hurt and give them a much poorer reputation. SHIRO_NOROWARETA, being the most outright horrifying track on here, also raises the most questions. My guesses are either A: it’s a part of the Curfew feature, with Midnight most likely being the hour the “Curfew Enforcer” is spawned as opposed to 10PM. B: it’s for an anomalous area of the game, likely a scary course such as Hollow Horror Halls, or perhaps an anomalous area of the Castle C: probably the intended option, it’s meant to play in the presence of and during an encounter with an Anomalous entity such as the Wario Apparition.

As so, the DS version is the result of multiple experiments by Nintendo, kidnapping people and forcing them to play Mario 64, each with their own personalized copy, Nintendo was looking for one that would improve the Mario 64 experience and quite possibly port it to another system, one of the subjects was Joe, an obsessed Nintendo fan, his copy was very unique, as it even added new characters, levels, bosses, and even tried to make waluigi playable, waluigi, however, was awaiting him at the mysterious blue portal at the basement, which has been theorized that creatures from other worlds come from, Joe died, waluigi was never finished, they trapped him inside the castle, that dark box outside the castle? That's where he is, he's waiting for you
