I like how this is more of a PG version of those zombie massacre animations that were on Newgrounds. In fact, Luigi fetching out a rifle only for Mario to swat it away is almost a nod to that. While I could could take or leave the dream twist at the end, it was satisfying how Mario gave Kamek the boot.

How well would Mario and Luigi survive a zombie apocalypse? Pretty well actually. Let's go ahead and say that Mario and Luigi are surviving in a place with no buildings and very little people. Mario and Luigi will have their own standard arsenal (Cappy, F.L.U.D.D, The Poltergust, etc), and they have their power-ups, but only the power-ups that they have regular access to, so no invincibility leaf or giga cat bell. They should be able to survive a zombie apocalypse for quite a while. In terms of offense, Mario and Luigi are extremely powerful, and zombies wouldn't really be a challenge considering they've battled Bowser and his army several times. It should be worth mentioning that Mario and Luigi are much faster than the average person. Mario is fast enough to maneuver as a bolt of lightning in Super Mario Odyssey. This electric transformation is fast enough to travel between neighboring countries in mere seconds. Given that Mario is able to maneuver through complex paths while in this form, he easily has a reaction equal to 220,000,000 miles an hour. That's about a third the speed of light. Mario has also shown that he is strong enough to lift up Larry's Castle and kick it away. Assuming that the castle is made of limestone and measuring the distance it was kicked, it must have weighed over 61 million tons, and thus hit with a force equal to 3.4 megatons of TNT. That's 231 times more powerful than the Little Boy, the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. More than powerful enough to wipe out an army of zombies, and that's without the Mega Mushroom or the Ultra Hammer. Both Mario and Luigi are also tough enough to survive an entire tennis stadium exploding. The blast radius was over 2,000 feet in diameter, which means Mario and Luigi took an explosion equal to about 2.4 megatons of TNT. While Luigi has never pulled off the first two feats I mentioned (at least not in canon), it's not out of the question if Luigi can replicate it. After all, Luigi is able to jump higher and farther than Mario can, he has occasionally rescued Mario, and he does share similar abilities. Luigi surviving the explosion in the tennis stadium helps justify this scaling too. So, Luigi could very well be on par with Mario, or at least comparable. Of course, durability may not really help in a zombie apocalypse. Depending on the variation of zombies you're using, it's likely they can just bite you and infect you, turning you into a zombie yourself. So...in a zombie apocalypse, it's mainly speed that matters rather than durability. Of course, it's likely they know that a zombie can be killed with blunt force to the head, and even if they don't, they have pyrokinesis. Perfect for destroying zombies. If that doesn't cut it, they have power ups that can make them invincible for a short time, freeze them in ice, freeze time, and of course allow flight. Granting them more control over the fight. If either Mario or Luigi die, they can use a 1up mushroom, though this wouldn't work if both are dead, and if either Mario or Luigi are infected, it may be harder to do that. Luckily Mario can use "freshen up" to remove the infection before he or Luigi become Zombies themselves. Heck, they have an item called "Bottomless gloves" which means they won't run out of power-ups anytime soon. Then of course, Mario and Luigi are pretty smart. Mario is directly stated to have "The knowledge of a physician" in SSBB, and Luigi is stated to be smarter. Phew, now I realize that this is a big waste of time.
