Curioisty: The koopalings were meant to appear in Mario Party 1, concretely in the Eternal Star board. but this implied making 7 different models, so they got replaced by Baby Bowser/ Koopa Kid. That's why he exists.

I don't think Pauline was essentially brought back, given she was basically still used in the Mario vs Donkey Kong series. It's people are like Pauline was finally brought back in Odyssey and now appears in the sports and karting games. But at the same time they are like Daisy is a character who has been used since Super Mario Land meanwhile all this time she's been in Party games, karting games, sports games, and Super Mario Run. I don't get why Pauline existing alongside Peach means she can't get kidnapped. As for Daisy she didn't reprise her role cause Bowser and Donkey Kong the Third have no interest in her, Sarassaland is more equiped to deal with threats than the Mushroom Kingdom, and well it's Daisy. The Koopalings weren't erased/replaced by Bowser Jr, nor were intended to be. In Super Mario Sunshine Mario's past adventures are referenced and among those references Iggy Koopa is seen. Koopa Kid has many names such a Baby Bowser and Mini Bowser. Given his introduction, the way he looks, among other things I think it's best to interpret him as Baby Bowser post Yoshi Story. I don't think Bowser's elite troops need to show for everything, or his son. Keep in mind characters like King Boo, King Bob-omb, and Petey Piranha all work for Bowser yet don't always show up. Hotel Mario and Mario is missing aren't canon but Yoshi's Safari is. Mario doesn't replace Peach for Pauline, nor is Dorrie replaced by Plessie. "Also, I like how Plessie shows up twice and they said Dorrie has been replaced." Also, Dorrie and Plessie not being in the same game is like they don't have to be. I also like how Donkey Kong Junior and Toadsworth were mentioned at the beginning and were never talked about. Also yes, they do exist.

Miyamoto (the actual creator of Mario) confirmed that Jumpman *is* in fact Mario, and Pauline herself references the events of the original DK game in Odyssey and even tells Mario that “of course you’d remember!” Hell, the *entire* New Donk City Festival is based off the *original* Donkey Kong arcade game- the one both Mario (as Jumpman) and Pauline (as Lady) debuted in. Do your research. Jumpman was never Mario’s dad. Lady is Pauline

I am still frustrated that not only Bowser Jr. but the Koopalings were all replaced with the most ugly, useless, and bland characters ever in Super Mario Odyssey. I mean I know the Koopalings have a decent sized fan base, but who actually likes the Broodals?
