By request, this is one of my favorites from Mario Kart 64: the credits music.

This song was always sad to me. I got the vibe that the game was saying goodbye to you as you moved on with your life. You always thought the game was fun, but the game is staying in a static life whereas your life moves on to bigger and better things. The credits song screams "Don't forget about me." to the player, and comforts the player with a warm, "I'll be here when you're ready to play me again." :')

This is EXACTLY how I've felt since I heard it. Like nostalgia even though it was fresh. I've ALWAYS loved it. I'm about to be thirty two and have played it since it came out as one of my first ever games I owned as a kid. I still play it and now even play with my daughter(s). It's a special game and a special track to me.

This melody is so beautifully haunting. I’ve never heard this song vanilla. Heck, I’m a Wii baby. But my throat tightens when this song reaches its chorus. It shows the true power of music, the ability to convey emotions, and to make someone feel something, even if they don’t have an attachment to the song. It’s stuff like this that annoys me when people say VGM isn’t real music.

This song always brings a tear to my eyes. It did as a kid because I knew that I had beat the game, and it does now because of childhood, sitting down with my parents to play VS mode. I'd give my right kidney to spend one week in 1996 again just to play this freaking game alongside my 3 year old self. Even revisiting this game today just doesn't feel the same as it did playing it brand new back in '96.

So I'm sure many gamers out there will join me in saying thank you. Thank you for saving so many of us from being bullied as children, helping us cope with family issues and even death. Thank you for helping us form life long friendships due to your creations, hard work and wonderful vision you had for gamers everywhere. You gave us Mario Maker so we can possibly see what you have been doing all these years. Making games and bringing happiness to the world as your final project. My sister bought the n64 when it was released way before I was even born. Then she went on too high school etc. and then I was born on year 2000. When I was 6-10 years old, I'd always play games like: Mario kart 64, Super Mario 64, Super smash bros, Ocarina of time and many more. I remember I'd show my grandma almost every accomplishment I've done in the game. She used to feed me while I was playing. I wasn't born in the 90's however it's awesome how I got to experience that. Now I feel huge nostalgia. I feel like many people didn't and won't experience the true beauty of the these games because technology is advancing as we speak and now all people play are games like: cod, gta, bf and more. I'm just happy that I got to feel how other people feel when they played such a good console back in 1996. I dislike my generation a lot. Now we have Instagram and Hashtags, crappy music like blurred lines and earthquake and thousand more. I am feared to see what's coming towards 2060.

After the struggle that is 150CC Special Cup, always comes this reward. This well won reward for your accomplishments fighting for first place through the four tracks. Relaxing music, the credits themselves, a view of each course. What is not to like about that? D.K.'s Jungle Parkway, through not very hard, can screw you up sometimes with it's turns. Yoshi Valley, with it's twisted paths, always needs your concentration. Take the wrong path, and you're screwed. Banshee Boardwalk, with those annoying turns that always mess you up. Slowing down is key. And finally, Rainbow Road. The last course you need to win to reach this nostalgia trip. Railroads make it easy, but remaining in first place is number one priority. Finally, after the Award Ceremony, comes this. The struggle is over. Your reward? Listening to this great track that always reminds you why Mario Kart 64 is so iconic, a masterpiece, and one of the best games in the Mario Kart series. The feels begin right when the "Mario Kart 64 Staff" hits the screen and this song begins to play. I always get nostalgic and teary when I reach the credits, because I don't regret owning a copy of this game at all. The fight to reach this point has been so hard, and yet it's so rewarding in the end. The credits await you. Are you ready for a nostalgic trip to the past?
