I only played on an emulator. It was hard especially (clears throat) Mirror Toad’s Turnpike. But the end credits were beautiful. It really gave me a sense of completion.

I've had this game for literally as long as I remember. I remember playing it before going to preschool in the afternoon. I thought I had beaten this game before and had completed it to 100%, but when I was like 11 or 12 I noticed I only got silver in a 50cc cup. I got gold in the cup and then the next time I played Special cup I saw this for the first time. I was still crying, just staring at the castle screen a good while after they ended. This game is my entire childhood.

damn this soundtrack brings me back. to a time more innocent, as the times came things had change. i remember i use to play with my best friend alberto with this all the time. me and him use to have the only competition, i use to not care even about winning into he loses below a rank then me. man this game was awesome, remember everybody in the wario stage and when you go up the hill. i always use to use the thunderbolt when he was up there, then he falls down. anyways is sad that age of innocence has gone, wow, 90s and early 00s was an awesome time to be alive. this beat, made me cry, makes me think about life and where humanity is heading to be honest with you. well thank you for reading this comment, see you next time.

I ve always been crying to this credits song... I'd perfectly fit to an adventure game. And seriously, the fact that it s so emotional on a stupid and fun game such as mario kart 64 shows you simply how excellent and powerful this song is. As a kid I coul beat the special cup just to hear the rainbow road song and that one. One more time, thank you Koji Kondo Also, one detail, at 2:22 thay made the arrow in a different red color compared to the one in the original map.

I played the game a lot and read the credits on the Mario Wiki, but I never beat Special Cup in this game. Can you believe that? Must win gold cup by finishing in first place in all 12 categories, in 4 courses in 50cc, 4 courses in 100cc, and 4 courses in 150 cc races to unlock the credits. When finishing the game, reset the game and unlock the mirror mode, and every courses are the same, except for Toad Turnpike when racing against the traffic instead of going with the same flow of traffic in the 3 normal races in 50cc, 100 cc, and 150 cc.
