Fun fact: I didn't even know I could catch abney in points. Between the shock dodges in mushroom cup, and the great item luck despite mistakes (Sherbet Land and Royal Raceway) and getting hit out of bounds on Toad's Turnpike, I was surprised to keep placing well and taking firsts. When it came down to the end of Choco Mountain, I was really only hoping to get a 40 point round, but got the 42 and was told I needed to do a tie-breaker, much to my surprise. I was happy to make it into the finals for the first time at Summer Kart Invitational (in the third year of attendance)!

The Group 14 drivers were a joy to watch. Not just for their incredible skill at the game, but also the laughter and banter between them despite the high level of focus required. It made me nostalgic for the competition between friends as you push each other to be better at your favorite games.

Yeah. There is great competition and respect between all of them. In past years there have been some players that were not always so sportsmanlike but this year's contenders were all class.

Hattok's chase down of Abney score might be my favorite moment ever in these tournaments. I don't think anyone was taking it seriously at first but he just kept winning and it actually started to look possible. Absolutely incredible to watch.

I've been watching the tournaments here since 2017 and have also organized such tournaments with my buddies in Germany. Of course, not with the same know-how as the guys in these videos, but that doesn't matter. For me, Zoran is the favorite for the title. But anything can happen in a final. The other players like Beck, Hattock, Dan, Andy and Kyle are simply too good for that. Maybe there will be a surprise. In any case, I'm really looking forward to the finals and can hardly wait for the videos to go online. Thank you that we can watch such events here.

Hearing them talk about manual spinning out on frappe snowland in group stage 14 makes me feel somehow weird that I can't play 150cc as I always spin out just trying to drive normal to the point I can't even play 64 myself despite it being my favorite mario kart game.
