I agree the dlc did come late, but the base game was hardly lazy, and only ported once and improved the game's meta and gameplay on launch, while also adding in more characters, and revamping the battle mode almost entirely. Plus, Wii U sales were a flop, so it was inevitable that they would port even at the time one of the better Mario kart games

I really wish there was an option to do a versus race with all 96 courses in a random order, that would be so epic. Also as a UK player does anybody know why Neo Bowser City is called Koopa City in the UK version of the game? Bowser is the character’s English name and it even says Neo Bowser City on the signs around the course.

Around the Wii U era Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of America did seperate translations/localisations from Japanese. NoA often took more liberties, while NoE often translated closer to the original phrasing in Japan.

This has been such an amazing experience. 4 years ago I got my switch with MK8DX bundled and man what a game. From the 2 years of playing with the base game to the 2 years of BCP discussion. Easily the best game of the mario kart franchise and a top 10 game for me in general, and a full on masterpiece.

The game is for sure done. But you know they're gunna cut stuff out and release it and than do the twice yearly drip feed . Which is gunna make the game feel less fun and whole. As when you cut stuff and drip it out slowly(like the booster pass itself) most ppl aren't coming back to it. Its why the Mario sports games all died. Its why splatoon 3 kinda came and went,its not nearly as hyped as 2 was. Same for many other games like switch sports. I really hate the approach Nintendo is going but it's gunna get even worse in the next system

It's amazing! Now, can they please extend the number of courses for VS. beyond 48, and even to all 96 courses? I would love to play all courses as one cup in random order with my friends! They extended it from 32 to 48 with the first DLC on Wii U, why not now as well? EDIT: The extension to 48 courses only happened from the Wii U game to MK8 Deluxe for Switch, and never was on Wii U. I just misremembered.

Don't get me wrong, this is the best Mario Kart game. But I don't understand how all throughout 9 years and 96 tracks, Nintendo didn't give Luigi a single track. GCN Luigi's Mansion doesn't count since it's a battle course. I mean they had pleanty of options to choose from. If not five, they had three of them in Mario Kart Tour, and at least one of them could have made their way in the Booster Course Pass.
