I usually hate this, but there was this ONE time where the hacker actually made it more fun. He was leaving a trail of stars and mushrooms you could pick up and use. So if you followed him the right way, it was pretty insane. He stayed in the group for a few races. Everyone at the lobby was saying “good game!” and “thanks!”

@@carealoo744 iirc if you hit certain amounts of coins you go faster. and when you use a coin item it gives you a tiny boost too

@@carealoo744 they increase your top speed and give you a very small boost when you pick them up. You don’t really notice much of a difference but someone driving in a straight line with 10 coins will go faster than another with the same build and 0 coins

I decided to play MK8 regionals one time. Like a year ago I think. We were playing on Baby Park. That’s how I knew it was gonna go bad. Then out of nowhere, we get flung out of the map for like 5 seconds, somehow get back on, and then this hacker just rains bombs everywhere and it crashed the entire game and gave us a comm error. It was such a weird experience, that I started both laughing and got very annoyed.

This actually happened to me once, sadly it was on WII U, and it was around the time Mario kart 8 first came out so i couldn't get a capture of it, but i still remember the hacker was playing as link. the funny thing was I was playing with a family member, and they passed the hacker RIGHT before the finish line. the second they passed the finish line about 60 or so red shells all flew towards them at the same time. still one of my favorite memories to know we beat a hacker, and actually made them pretty mad.
