You can only enable the 8 item if you also enable one of the items that's _in_ the 8 item: mushroom, red shell, green shell, blooper, star, bob-omb, banana, or coin. Also, CPUs can't get the 8 item, so it's a moot point to enable the 8 item offline

Apparently they also changed it so that the Kart and Character combination actually affects Invincibility Frames. I'm like 90% sure that's just to dissuade entire lobbies from choosing the same "optimal" Waluigi build, and I'm all for that.

After Wave 6 of the Booster Course Pass, it be cool if Nintendo releases a Course Maker DLC where you can build your own courses and share them online, similar to Super Mario Maker.

7:35 to answer your question, Dry Bones was added to the deluxe port of Mario Kart 8, as well as Bowser Jr. King Boo & the Inklings. All of those characters were not in the original WiiU version of Mario Kart 8.

The invincibility frames have been tweaked in a way to where they're character dependent. Not sure what that means though

I saw someone saying it's tied to acceleration but not sure. Low acceleration high invincibility, high acceleration low invincibility. Basically ability to recover from a hit.

Can't be done, it will automatically enable mushroom. You need to also activate some of the items that appear in the Crazy 8 (it will still be very rare as it is). Sorry
