Look up Casiopea as well. They have a consistent relationship with T-Square. While T-Square had some live concerts with Dimension. Issei Noro, Casiopea's lead guitarist and main composer, has also performed with Sega Sound Team.

I never heard of Dimension until this video, but I can hear a lot of influence already. On the other hand, I am very well aware of T-Square's influence on Nintendo and Capcom's music. Anyone that likes looking into where video game musicians get their inspirations from should listen to the Adventures album (by T-Square, then called The Square) front to back.

Check T-Square's Song "Sister Marian", which is famous for being an obvious and strong influence for the Overworld Theme in the very first Super Mario Bros. on the NES

i really love dimension lol. i found it completely independent from mario kart 8 even though i loved the soundtrack before. I first listened to 5th dimension when it was autoplayed on a channel that uploaded obscure albums. and then someone else pointed out to me that it was the same saxophonist in dolphin shoals and i was amazed! they're at the top of their game, no other band comes close to how high energy, refined and complex their music is.

Fantastic video! I made sure to give it a thumbs up! I also have some information I've gotten over the past few years of digging into jazz fusion & the mario kart 8 soundtrack! Satoshi Bandoh of T-Square is also a drummer for the MK8 soundtrack! And the bassist for MK8, Teppei Kawasaki has been involved with DIMENSION & T-Square a number of times, playing on a handful of DIMENSION's albums & some of Kazuki Katsuta's solo work, as well as being apart of Takeshi Itoh's "Mellow Madness" septet! The world of Jazz Fusion is so intertwined! Previous keyboardist of T-square Keizo Kawano released an album last year titled "Best Friends" and it features Kazuki Katsuta on the track "Shadow Striker" I believe he might be on another track in the album but I'm not entirely sure! I very very very very HIGHLY recommend checking out the discographies of both DIMENSION & T-SQUARE! You will not regret it one bit! If you're a fan of the Mario Kart 8 soundtrack DIMENSION is one band that's a must listen!
