It's a lose-lose situation here because I feel like there would be a larger number of people complaining about these videos being called 'Mario Kart 10 Predictions', than the number of Tour defenders. Whether or not Tour is mainline, I'm still going to call the sequel to 8, '9', until the title is actually revealed.

This is a great prediction/idea video. I’m happy someone actually wants to see the retro tracks being balanced. It annoys the hell out of me in Mario Kart 8 why there’s four N64 tracks yet just a single SNES and GBA track in the base game 🤣 once again great video, hope they do this approach in Mario Kart 9 with two tracks from each game :)

Mario Kart Wii kinda had a pattern. The 2D games got 2 tracks each and the 3D games got 4 tracks each.

I personally would swap DS Mario Circuit with Riverside Park or Shroom Ridge because almost all past mario karts that had a retro mario or luigi circuit had them in the Shell or Banana Cup.

Maybe more recent tracks will make the cut since there's more to choose from, or retros from DS or Wii.

Hope that they OVERHAUL with the 2d remakes like what they did with Ribbon Road and Cheese Land. Think about it, they kept the simplicity of the track layouts while delivering the theme way differently Ribbon Road was is ribbons in GBA, but they put it in a kid's room! How awesome would that feel if SNES tracks get revamped to the max?

Oh the shock when MK9 comes out without GBA Rainbow Road. As far as I am concerned if I'm DS, Wii & 3DS they can have three of the SNES Mario Circuits & GBA Bowser Castles and not have the fourth in WiiU then they will have absolutely no problems with putting SNES then N64 Rainbow Road then skipping GBA. Tbh I would be very surprised if the retro Rainbow Road isn't either GCN or Wii.

Edit 6: Actually added battle courses (forgot to save). Edit 7: Added nitro course predictions, changed a course (Wii U Water Park > Wii U Thwomp Ruins), and a few details. Edit 8: Done some formatting, also I have done way too many edits at this point. This video is pretty good. While the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass did kinda ruin some of the track predictions, it's still a decent estimation. I would replace some of the tracks with ones that didn't appear in the BCP. I think a system of 16 retro courses, 2 from each of the 8 mainline Mario Kart games would work best. The nitro courses especially are literally just my ideas. My course predictions: Nitro courses: Mushroom Cup: Birdo Circuit (Circuit track themed around Birdo.) One Minus Two (Cave themed course, but you are on the roof(anti-gravity).) Blooper Beach (Simple beach themed course, maybe have like an underwater cave section or something.) Rock-On Rave (Music course, kinda like Melody Motorway(Music Park) and Electrodrome. I think rock music would work for a rather intense themed course.) Flower Cup: Mario Circuit (Literally just a Mario Circuit, all the mainline Mario Karts have at least one of these(SMK has 4).) Great-Cloud Heights (Like a castle in the sky and there is the classic sky pipes and stuff.) Perplex Express (Like the board of the same name from Mario Party 8.) Banned Wagon (Mario Maker themed course, also Super Wagon World is the best super world in Mario Maker 2.) Star Cup: Triangle Terror (Literally a triangle.) Magenta Bog (A yellow town with purple goo lakes with boardwalks and stuff.) Inceptive Inversion (THE COLOURS, THEY ARE BLINDING.) Joke's End (Yes, I really like Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.) It would be good if some of the shortcuts from MK:SC were kept though.) Wii U Thwomp Ruins (I think the theme is decently unique, and I am keeping with your putting a Mushroom and Star cup course from Mario Kart 8.) N64 Moo Moo Farm (Bland, but nice and simple. It annoys me how some people only pick random fan favourites, when Nintendo clearly knows to balance the courses.) SNES Vanilla Lake 1 (Good pick, hopefully those annoying blocks are altered, like it's remake in MKT) Banana Cup: DS Airship Fortress (This slot was a hard one to fill, but at least it doesn't clash with other themes. I know this was brought back in MK7, but I feel like it would be a good candidate to return in a potential MK9.) Wii Toad's Factory (Creative Track. Its theming of mechanics and a factory is decently unique. DS Tick-Tock Clock is the closest thing to it, and that is quite different. I say bring this one back.) GCN Mushroom City (Meh, ig i'll keep it. Not the most interesting track ever, but the split paths are pretty good.) 3DS Shy Guy Bazaar (Really creative theme. Often desert tracks feel bland and boring, but I think this may be the best desert track by a kilometre) Leaf Cup: DS Figure-8 Circuit (Controversial pick, but similar to Mario Circuit. As with my reasoning for Moo Moo Farm, it is good to have some safer, blander picks for courses sometimes.) Wii U Electrodrome (COOL BOWSER DANCES TO ELECTRODROME. This course is just super hype. In terms of visuals, it may well be the best course in the franchise.) N64 Wario Stadium (Finally, no more N64 tracks to pick from without reusing them. Wow, Mario Kart 64 will hopefully be the first Mario Kart game to have all its tracks come back in later games.) 3DS Cheep Cheep Cape (Cheep Cheep Lagoon)(Yes, I use PAL spelling. I noticed there was a lack of beach courses in your predictions, so I decided to include this one. It isn't exactly the most interesting course, but still decent.) Lightning Cup: SNES Ghost Valley 3 (SPOOKY SCARY SKELETONS, SEND SHIVERS DOWN YOUR SPINE. A notable lack of walls in this course.) Wii Dry Dry Ruins (Good desert course. I think that the ruins area is a nice addition to the desert theme, as the theme is known for producing courses that are not that great.) GCN Bowser's Castle (Pretty good for its time. Is it just me or does this feel like a bit of a maze?) GBA Rainbow Road (I can imagine all the huge shortcuts already. Nevertheless, basically everybody has this course in their predictions.) One more thing. I am annoyed by people who predict that "Mario Kart 9" will have 48 courses by default. That seems a bit outlandish. I think that it would work best similar to the original Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, in that is will have 32 courses by default, and it will get 16 more as DLC. I also had another small idea. In Mario Kart 8, the DLC had 9 nitro courses and 7 retro courses. So, for Mario Kart 9, to balance it out, the DLC will have 7 nitro courses and 9 retro courses. These predictions are even more far-fetched, especially the nitros. My prediction for mixed cups: Egg Cup (Nitro) Memory Lane (A trip through the history of Mario.) Arcade GP Diamond City (I think the night version looks slightly better.) Arcade GPDX Omatsuri Circuit (Such a unique course.) Arcade GP2 Yoshi Park 2 (Better than Yoshi Park 1.) Triforce Cup Arcade GP Mario Highway (I think the sunset version looks better.) (Nitro) Inferno Island (From Mario Tennis Aces.) (Nitro) Sirena Beach (From Super Mario Sunshine.) Arcade GPDX PAC-MAN Stadium (Pac-Man approves of this choice, also so retro.) Crossing Cup Arcade GP2 Arena Stadium (Called Stadium Arena in the American English version, also, it's a Waluigi track so why not.) (Nitro) Squeak-Squawk Ruins (Kinda like the Ruined Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey.) Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline (Why did it not get in the Booster Course Pass?) (Nitro) Pinpoint Palace (Building that slowly gets thinner, with a warp from the Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix series. The mini-map will reflect this.) Bell Cup (Nitro) RoBowser Brawl (Kinda like a boss fight but not really.) (Nitro) Mario Land (Based on the location from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.) Arcade GPDX Bowser's Factory (Bowser is making something idk.) Arcade GP Rainbow Downhill (I prefer Rainbow Downhill over Rainbow Coaster, as it is longer and has a more interesting layout.) Battle Mode: The battle mode would have options to do timed or last man standing for the different modes (except Shine Thief and Renegade Roundup, if those return). I might throw in a few special battle arenas. Battle Courses: (Nitro) Savannah Plateau (imagine like that one 3d world level.) (Nitro) B.L.O.C.K Industries (Moving platforms, and manufacturing the blocks that appear at the edges of most courses in SMK & MK:SC.) (Nitro) Ghostly Ghetto (Closed in streets with boos and stuff.) (Nitro) Shifting Sand-Land (Based on the level from Super Mario 64.) (Nitro) The GameCube of Doom (Survive inside a GameCube where there are different events happening.) At this point they need to step up in amount of cups for the next game after MK8DX and the BCP. 48 tracks at launch seems pretty reasonable

these would be pretty accurate if tour wasn’t a thing. I also think we’re gonna get 12 cups, and that’s gonna be the new standard for cups. DLC would probably be 4 more cups and some characters if we were to have DLC. If you’re planning on doing another prediction after the booster course pass finishes, I would add tour tracks, and I would have 12 cups instead

I feel like tour tracks will be treated differently. We also have to consider 8 DLC tracks, which will likely be handled differently. Tour nitros, such as merry mountain, are likely fair game. However since they were just featured in MK8s DLC, I don't think any would be in the base game, so if tour keeps getting nitros after the booster course pass ends those are likely candidates for tour reps. Tour cities, due to their real world nature, do not seem likely picks. Especially given they are booster course pass filler. These likely will be reserved MAYBE for DLC. Again, the booster course pass just brought like all of tours city content into the previous game for a price tag, so these do not seem like guaranteed pics. And 8 DLC tracks also fall into 2 categories. Nitros like ice ice outpost and dragon driftway seem like fair game, but with the caveat that all 16 WiiU nitros have never been remade, I think its likely those will not be coming back for 9s lifecycle. And 8s DLC Cameo tracks such as Hyrule Circuit just seem like no-gos. If anything, these may be added into Tour due to them complementing the artstyle and allowing for more characters to be monetized like Isabelle.

Probably not to be honest. These predictions were already outdated when I made them because of tour. I had already made these predictions in like 2017 or something ridiciulous like that. They were just sitting on my google drive collecting dust, so I decided to make a video series on it. If I revist this video, it'll be after the DLC wraps up.

Toad's Factory, I would definitely love to see a revamp of. Particularly having the dockyard section be a container ship, as well as the three turns afterwards be all conveyor belts and antigravity, as well as the ending section featuring some wrecking balls as well as the bulldozers. The hydraulic section pretty much stays the same.

I don't think there will be any organization of retro tracks, or necessarily balance between previous games in terms of how many courses from each return. DS was the only game in the series to have that whatsoever, and the neglect of SNES and GBA in Wii onward shows it. About re-reusing tracks, the only situations in which that happened were with SNES tracks that previously returned in Super Circuit, and tracks that returned for a second time in 8's DLC, ofc not counting Tour (which this video does anyway). I also think that courses that returned in 8's DLC that weren't already used as retro tracks will be reused in future games, but probably not 9. About the Wuhu tracks, Maka Wuhu would return as the 3rd course of the Lightning Cup by the pattern that there's been since Wii of the third course of the Lightning Cup being the final course in the Star Cup from 2 games earlier, with DK Mountain from GC to Wii, Airship Fortress from DS to 7, and Grumble Volcano from Wii to 8. This pattern is more subtle than the Rainbow Road pattern, but it still exists, and will probably continue.

About your placements, I feel as if Choco Mountain and Vanilla Lake are to much for the shell cup. DS Mario Circuit and Mushroom City should swap places, and Toad's Factory should go where Shy Guy Bazaar is.

I disagree, Vanilla Lake is very basic. look at it in Tour. Probably the easiest track on my list. And Choco Mountain isn't too difficult, besides Nintendo's never been shy to include harder tracks in the shell/mushroom cup. I don't think both Ds tracks should be in the same cup, especially when they look pretty similar, and swapping toad's factory and shy guy bazaar messes up the pattern I have.

Great video and great predictions! One thing I personally don't agree with, however, is remaking the Mario Kart 8 tracks, considering they would still be on the same system (if you count Deluxe) and I don't think there's that much more you could do with them; MK8 original tracks are really good as is.

Yes, probably. The last courses of the Star Cup in DD-7 are DK Mountain, Airship Fortress, Grumble Volcano, and Maka Wuhu, and the third courses of the Lightning Cup in Wii-8 are not-so-coincidentally DK Mountain, Airship Fortress, and Grumble Volcano, so Maka Wuhu would continue that well-established pattern.

Personally I do not really like this method since it doesn't show your favourite tracks and overlooked amazing tracks that already got a remake. This also means we would have 8 tracks from the post wii era that are in general not very inspired, really redundant or badly paced (expet for teh gba ones). Personally I think having a selection of every level of difficulty is much better, since it allows to make more believable cups.
