For Pokémon Gen 3 I feel like the best option would be Sootopolis. The pale cliffs of the volcanic crater make it a very distinctive location. You could have Kyogre and Groudon emerge from the cave for stage effects or transformation. Maybe the underwater entrance could be included somehow.

This was a really good video and I liked your ideas, but I think you specifically undermined Metroid and Animal Crossing. Dread and even more so New Horizons did spectacular numbers (New Horizons is like the 3rd best selling game on the switch). I kinda feel like both are deserved of new reps. Also I’m leaning towards Pauline, Waluigi, and Geno as the most likely new Mario reps. Paper Mario TTYD is my favorite game of all time, but I just don’t see Paper Mario happening especially over characters who aren’t in Smash yet. Paper Mario is technically Mario, who is in Smash. Zelda also is more than deserving of at least 5 or 6 reps. It’s in desperate need. Lastly Alear will probably be outdated by the time the next Smash comes along. Plus Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses were more popular than Engage, so I don’t see them pulling from that game unless Fire Emblem gets put on a long break, but I doubt it as Engage was finished during the pandemic.

For third party, i know it’s really hard to cut any of them but there are some characters they just can’t go back on. Dragon Quest is honestly one of the most influential video game series of all time spawning the entire JRPG genre so Hero needs to stay, same with Sora who was confirmed to be THE most requested character for Smash Bros, so there’s no way he can be added after so long just to be cut the next game, regardless of how difficult it may be legally for him to return. I also think Banjo should return, despite mainly being for Western audiences but I still think is a character they can not go back on despite being irrelevant in modern gaming he was just requested for too long. Cloud is also an insanely iconic character and super influential to Smash. Snake and Sonic were the first third parties, yes, but Cloud burst the door wide open for more third parties being a character a huge symbol of Nintendo’s greatest competitor in the last 90s. Regardless of how the competitive scene sees him, Steve also needs to stay, he is literally from the best selling video game of all time and also depending on if this is a Sakurai game, he just really likes Minecraft so there’s a boost there. Wow the toxicity in the comments is insane. How did people miss the fact that you didn't include all possible echo fighters? Holy hell... Too many are unaware of the idea "quality over quantity". Many also seem to miss how hard negotiating with gaming companies can be. Overall I think this is a very reasonable roster (and imo good also) :) imho, I think it's reasonable to cut ROB, Palutena and Ice climbers (+Snake)(+Jigglypuff). Also, I think an another Sonic character is long overdue. The popularity of Tails and Shadow is close to many Mario and Pokémon characters, and don't feel out of place in a fighting game.

My ideas for New Super Smash Bros Characters! For Animal Crossing characters! I agree with your idea of having K.K. Slider on there. Especially giving he is Animal Crossing’s most famous musician! I also in addition would love to see Tom Nook as a Fighter aside that & possibly Blathers the Owl. Or maybe Flick the Chameleon. For Super Smash Bros! I think Alear of Fire Emblem Engage would be a good pick too! I’d also recommend using Alm & Celica too. Also maybe adding Shez from Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes. For Dragon Quest! I’d recommend adding Carver & Terry from the 6th edition. For MegaMan! I’d recommend adding Protoman & Bass & since they have certain other most evil villains on there! Add Dr. Wily in addition too! Lastly! For Sonic the Hedgehog! Aside Sonic himself! Good additions I believe would be great would be Shadow, Tales, Amy & Dr. Eggman as well as Knuckles. Yeah, 3D for 3DS love! The 2DS was abysmal and gave Nintendo and third parties an excuse to not utilize the defining feature of the system and it truly was innovative in how it was used in some games and greatly made up for lacking resolution. One day I will make a hardware mod for the 3DS that replaces the screens with HD 3D displays and just plain replace the hardware with far more powerful hardware that can output 3DS games at 60fps in this higher resolution with 3D on. This is a dream of mine and I will hold onto it and complete it one day. Also, yes, the gamepad was very comfortable and had a great feature set. It was only really lacking with the weak rumble. Thank you. The extra screen real estate was also great. Pikmin 3 is the definitive Pikmin experience on that system with the Gamepad as a strategy hub and pointer controls with the Wii Remote. Yeah, I played my Wii U more than my Switch for the first 2 years it was out and then my 3DS for the the 2019-2020 time period. It wasn't really until Bowser's Fury in the 3D World Remaster that I started playing my Switch more for anything other than indies. I won't lie, it's been a kinda insane indie box. But now even indies demand more than the Switch can handle, so I got my first Xbox with the Series X for those and to play some of the 360 and One era exclusives that aren't on PC. I CONSIDERED A PS5, but I hated my PS4 and found it to have no games that interested me for so many years that it just became a Blu ray box for me to the point where, even when it did finally get some games, I just wasn't interested in holding that controller. On a related note. Am I the only one who liked the Wii U having high sticks on both sides? I always feel lopsided holding the Xbox/GameCube controller layout and I hate how close the sticks are on PS. No other console ever did double high sticks other than the Wii U and Switch completely abandoned that to copy the Xbox standard. I think they do it better than Xbox with the Switch. I feel like the current Xbox controllers are too slanted and my hands always slide up them (the grip on the elites alleviates this, but who wants to be requires to get a $150+ controller for a comfortable gaming session). But the D-pads on Switch controllers SUCK! It feels like Nintendo has cheaper out more than ever on their hardware, and the quality is so much worse than ever before, but they charge more than ever by a long shot. How do we still not have Nintendo Selects? How was a Wii U pro controller, with 50 hours of per charge battery life, $20 less than a Wii U pro controller and all around better aside from lacking the NFC and USB-C for charging? I hate cheapskate Nintendo and they really have been super anti-consumer this generation in this regard. At least they're finally not region locking their games anymore and they've cut back on the censorship, but they also have been doing a much worse job localizing their games. I mean, none have been as bad as triforce heroes on 3DS, they did start going downhill in that regard back around 2015, pre-Switch, but it's just mediocre these days and it feels like it's getting worse again

The Switch doubling as both a home console and a handheld is both genius from a consumer perspective, but is likewise its fatal flaw. Nintendo is a game company first and foremost, so historically, their roof has been propped up by two pillars: console and handheld. Ever since the Game Boy and N64, these two pillars have had a trademark synergy that made Nintendo unique, both in the variety of games they delivered and their release schedule. I don't want to get too into it here, because there's too many figures to acknowledge, but by putting all of their eggs in one basket, Nintendo has gotten a bigger payoff at the expense of losing identity, something that with each iteration has only been improving, to where the DS and Wii families feel like two sides to the same coin, both as essential as the other. Their brand new releases, while usually excellent and of a high quality, tend to teeter between taking advantage of the Switch's hardware, or stepping back and feeling like a glorified 3DS or Wii game, making the first-party lineup feel like it has less identity compared to its predecessors.

Oh, and keep in mind that Sakurai is deciding who is included in the game. Fire Emblem is one of his favourite franchises, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more Fire Emblem characters in the next game. (Edit : I’m surprised Cloud Strife isn’t in your roster. With the third and final part of the remake of this game combined with his popularity, I think he has to be there, even if Sephiroth isn’t with him.)
