2:35 I saw this same setup at an anime convention. They had folding tables setup with all those GameCube's and 4 televisions behind them. It was a massive setup, but man alive was it cool being able to play with 15 other people!

I just started going thru my gear for 8 console 16 player set up that I'm planning on taking to a convention in March 2025. So far located from storage: 8 GameCubes with broadband adapters. 5 power cables. 8 Composite cables. 3 Copies of Mario Kart Double Dashes. (I know I have 5 more somewhere in storage). 7 Controllers. (I might go for 32 total as I have more connection options, like 2 set ups of 4 console 16 players). I also have 4 copies of 1080° Avalanches as that is LAN game. I also am looking for 3 or 4 copies (I might have 1) of Kirby Air Ride, but those are at ridiculous prices. Also bought so far: 6 32" Televisions (2 to go). 8 Composite to HDMI adapters as my TVs don't have any other than HDMI inputs. (I bought universal ones instead of GameCube only ones so I can hook other older consoles as well). 8 HDMI cables. 2 Routers with 5 ports each. 8 Straight 2m ethernet cables. 1 Straight 5m ethernet cable. 4 connector adapters that connect 2 straight Ethernet cables together while at the same time crossing them. 4 power strips with 5 outputs.

Zero sarcasm, thank you for doing the math, I've genuinely been curious how much it would have cost to accomplish this. 20 year old mystery: solved! As for getting 7 friends to join you, have you thought about seeing if your local university has a gaming club, and e-mail them if they'd allow you to set everything up so that everyone can play. Sometimes you have to go to the gamers instead of hoping the gamers would come to you.

Cool setup, but it can get quite expensive when you start playing with 16 friends, let alone the booze and the snacks. :DDD

You wouldnt need 3 routers, just 1 (for ip assignment and a network switch for connecting them all together.

Ha yeah when I got all my friends round to play this 2 of them were very disappointed but I think they saw the "dude do you know how long this took to set up?" look in my eyes and kept quiet :p

I know this is a year old but you have to understand how broken that is. King boo and Petey are Banned automatically due their item perk ability. If people have knowledge of the META in this game it wouldn't be fair at all. So randomizing was the best choice to prevent even the best player from destroying the competition.

I have a question. Is it possible to do GameCube Lan Play with the Wii? Since the Wii has a Lan adapter, can you link up a few wii consoles and have a lan party with the three GameCube games that support it?

FYI you can do this for less money if you just use Wiis instead of the Gamecube. The Wii can play Gamecube games and has built in wifi so you can connect all 8 consoles with 1 router.

you'd need to mod your wii to get the broadband adapter emulation with nintendon't, but yes, you can connect them together :) you can even connect the dolphin emulator and a modded wii u together

Hey i have two question, is it possible to play more than 4 players only in one gamecube? Or do you need the second gamecube for that? Also can you do this but instead of using the second gamecube you use a wii thats compatible with gamecube? Thank you for the video!

i have a gamecube ethernet adapter. i bought it because it was cheap. it's plugged in to my game cube, never used, sitting in my shed. neat to see who bought the other two. edit- if i was gonna do 4 player doubledash today i'd do it via piracy even though i have all the hardware. the shed is gross
