Obviously this game takes most of its inspiration and assets from the 3DS game. A majority of the tracks, including the retro tracks are from that game.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed where you couldn't fall off the map that easily. And the fact new characters are a bit harder to get, plus the fact majority of the time we're playing with bots instead of real people. Other than that, it's decent if you could have more maps, powerups and characters.

brobroant phone games are generally made more for kids, despite a lot of audiences playing it they have purposely gotten rid of detail and made textures look more simplified as it appeals a lot more to younger audiences as children tend to not enjoy the more realistic/detailed aesthetic but rather bright and fun colours :) (sorry i study this😅)
