Mario Kart Wii Retro Track Comparison

The N64 tracks have always remained nostalgic to me. But I can't shake off the feeling that the SNES tracks looked...bigger and easier in Mario Kart Wii.

I feel the same about the retro tracks in mario kart 8. They made the tracks wider to fit 12 players. The difference is the controls. Mario kart 8 is a very easy controlling game whereas mario kart wii takes more skill and the drifting is a bit more loose.

I love how the SNES and N64 track themes sound so close to the originals but just higher quality in MKWii.

I'd assume, because the penguins aren't always the same and it'd look weird, if the ghost bumped into nothing, when you play against it.

The very slight graphical upgrade of the gamecube tracks isn't worth the trade off of losing a 2nd rider. So for my money, double dash. Wii looks blurry aswell, maybe my nostalgia glasses are on too tight

@Tim Reiner I have nothing against you or your opinion But I must defend my boi MKWII... The 2 characters in one kart was good, but if it returned in any other mario kart- what would make Double Dash unique? MKWII came out only 4 years after Double Dash, and nearly improved in every area. MKWII is considered a fan favorite along with DS, but Wii is considered the best mario kart, because of shortcuts, ultra shortcuts, competition, online, nostalgia, the soundtrack, the racetracks, and so much more Double Dash was the first fully 3D cgi mario kart, and the graphics are I'd say just as good as Mkwii's, I wouldn't really say they were better. Double Dash is one of my favorites, and I'd even say it's the 4th best mario kart, and I am not just being biased for MkWii. Let me just say it simple: 9: Super Mario Kart 8: Mario Kart Super Circuit 7: Mario Kart 8 6: Mario Kart 64 5: Mario Kart 7 4: Mario Kart Double Dash 3: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2: Mario Kart DS 1: Mario Kart Wii Though Double Dash and 8 Deluxe could be interchangeable imo Also I love all mario karts. But Wii. Different story.

What I like is for all the flat tracks (except Mario Circuit 3) they kinda changed a couple aspects without changing it too much (the way the item boxes are set and the shortcut now being a trick ramp since theres no feather item in Ghost Valley 2, the cannonballs staying for a while before exploding in Shy Guy Beach, and the items coming out of the lava and the epic remix in Bowser Castle 3)

I think Wii improved the DS tracks so much desert hills doesn't suck anymore,and same for yoshi falls Delfino Square now became my official favorite retro track and Peach Gardens feels more like a track that was nitro in MKW more than retro,it just fits too much
